Jeff did collar conditioning flag drills all that stuff for a starter dog.Bench training a little force fetching but she holds well good nose just a matter of me not wanting to drive a hour and a half too train her. We have spoke about her before we just never met up.

Did Jeff do flagging drills with you and your pup? Have you worked on whistle training the dog at all?

I really appreciate everyones input.I am just trying to train her to do more upland than waterfowl.I have dealt with Jeff Schwartz just looking for other options and for me to be hands on. Jeff had her for 5 months and did a good job but she just needs some fine tuning.I brought her out quite a few times and just could not get her to quarter at all. Thanks again for all the input

I found this breeder in Menomonee Falls. It would be worth a call being so close to Milwaukee.

Really hard to answer without knowing what you want the dog to do. My buddy joined a retriever club to help with his boykin. He is a 90% waterfoul hunter. Any of the local springer trial guys would be good for upland hunting. It's worth spending the money to get help from a pro.

One other question - what is the goal with this dog? Are you looking to hunt it only, field trials, or?

If hunting, are you looking at waterfowl, upland, or both?

You may want to contact Jeff Schwartz at Rock River Kennels in Beaver Dam. He does group training on Thursdays and Saturdays. Very reasonably priced (I think it is $15 + birds) and your dog will get good work on birds. He is mainly a Springer guy, but I've gone out there with my AWS, he has worked with Boykins, and I've seen field cockers out there too. I haven't been there in a while, life seems to be passing me up lately.

He may want to do a couple of private sessions first before you do group training, but that is well worth the money as well. His number is 920-689-2468.

Otherwise, Tom Waite at Dale Creek kennels may be closer to you. I've never personally worked with him, but I've heard nothing but good things.

In none of those work out, I could try to find some time to get together with you and help you work your dog. The issues I have are a place to do it and a place to get birds. I have some dead birds but I don't have easy access to live pigeons. Also please note that I am a novice.
