Hey Everybody, Just wanted to let you know that the upcoming Wolf hunt may start in mid October. Which includes trapping and the use of bait and snares. And that makes me uncomfortable with wolf tapes out in the wood when I'm bird hunting with the dogs....Its hard enough hunting around the 5 different deer hunts they have in the fall... I'm not sure why they cant start the wolf trapping season in the winter?

HAve you seen the regulations regarding wolf trapping yet? From what I understand the baiting regualtions are the same as bear and deer so that means no meat - which means that baiting will be pretty much useless so it won't be attracting your dog. I would bet that snares are not legal for wolf just like they're not legal for fox or coyotes and I bet the cable restraints will not be allowed till later in the year just like for fox and coyotes.
