A friend of mine recommended I look into Temple Bay Lodge. They offer a 5 day package where they transport you both ways via motor coach with pickup points in a number of places in WI. You leave late afternoon and arrive at the lodge for breakfast the next morning.

In looking at their website it looks like a great trip for only $700/person. The $700 includes the boat, transportation, food, and lodging with a lot more.

Has anyone ever done this package with them?

If so what were the high and low points?

We are looking at it for a July 2013 trip.

It's been for sale for some time now, but with the economy the way it is it makes it a tough sell. They're not giving it away either.

Just got back from the vast eagle lake and did great everything was awesome. Bob and Peg do a great great job. Hog walleye, giant muskies, and huge pike were landed and lost. I completely recommend it because we met great people up there. We will definately be there next year. Big Smile

Great recommendation from a friend of mine that has done it 4 years in a row. My wife, daughter and boyfriend, a couple of friends and I have reserved the late July trip for 2013.

Love this place, hey a bus is a bus but they have modern clean ones. My suggestion take a sleeping pill, put in ear plugs go to sleep and wake up ready to fish at the resort. If you do not like a bus than drive.

The food and staff are excellent, Bob and his wife Peg are a pleasure as are the guides. The lake is HUGE so go with a guide for a few days and then you can try on your own but make sure you know how to read a map and have a good GPS always.

Have a beer on the patio overlooking the lake late in the day and it is a pleasure. Nice bar, I think the food is excellent even a mid week later night hamburger party. This resort lacks for nothing.

I have caught hundreds of fish a day, one morning we stopped counting after 100, and that was before noon.

One morning as we took off I noticed boats from another resort coming to fish the bay behind the lodge which we rarely fish during the day.On a really rough day we fished the bay and caught huge northern. Hey the grass is always greener. Most nights behind the lodge you can relax after dinner and catch lots of walleyes a minute from the dock. I caught one of my biggest eyes ever this way.

The most underused lure in my opinion are larger spinners. They work almost everywhere and are a great catching/searching tool. One shore I caught walleye, then bass then northern. Went back and targeted each species on the spots.

Muskies too in the mix so go and enjoy.

I have personally been to Temple Bay Lodge 3 times over the last 7 years coming to Canada The first was the bus trip and it was terrible Lots of old guys farting and snoring and crappy bus seats to sleep in for sure and it takes FOREVER to get there as well with the bus trip. Drive there yourself and you will be a much happier person for sure The food is a bit better than average food in taste and amounts and the bar is nice if you are a drinker which I am not but a nice place to unwind for sure

The cabins are average Not fancy but they are clean and ok to spend a week in for sure The part Ihave an issue with each and every year is Bob the owner he is a crabby old man that seems to be always pissed off at the world no matter what Not a pleasant man in my eyes at all Ths staff and the guides were always nice and I would suggest paying the extra money to get a guide the entire trip to put you on the fish Eagle Lake is HUGE and a lot can go wrong with you and your boat and the guides get you safley to and froma nd the shore lunches they cook everyday are well worth the cost of the guide

Temple Bay is OK The bus ride is a lot of old guys in a little area, farting, snoring, hard to sleep. The cabins is average, beds fair. The food is average. The boats are OK The fishing is the greatest. I love fishing Eagle lake. The bar is the most fantastic place in the world. There is nothing like having a cocktail looking out over Eagle Lake. If you are a single it is the way to go cheap and effective @ 700
