Love this place, hey a bus is a bus but they have modern clean ones. My suggestion take a sleeping pill, put in ear plugs go to sleep and wake up ready to fish at the resort. If you do not like a bus than drive.
The food and staff are excellent, Bob and his wife Peg are a pleasure as are the guides. The lake is HUGE so go with a guide for a few days and then you can try on your own but make sure you know how to read a map and have a good GPS always.
Have a beer on the patio overlooking the lake late in the day and it is a pleasure. Nice bar, I think the food is excellent even a mid week later night hamburger party. This resort lacks for nothing.
I have caught hundreds of fish a day, one morning we stopped counting after 100, and that was before noon.
One morning as we took off I noticed boats from another resort coming to fish the bay behind the lodge which we rarely fish during the day.On a really rough day we fished the bay and caught huge northern. Hey the grass is always greener. Most nights behind the lodge you can relax after dinner and catch lots of walleyes a minute from the dock. I caught one of my biggest eyes ever this way.
The most underused lure in my opinion are larger spinners. They work almost everywhere and are a great catching/searching tool. One shore I caught walleye, then bass then northern. Went back and targeted each species on the spots.
Muskies too in the mix so go and enjoy.
