WOW! our own personal Man Cave, Rudy. You're a genius for sure. Last night son Mike and I stopped at a Stevens Point bait shop and bought half a dozen musky suckers. He and his boy Casey and I are heading out to a small lake in a nearby county (even son Mike won't tell Pa the name of it for fear Pa will share it on L-L) to spend a day soaking suckers, telling hunting/fishing stories that we've all heard dozens of times already) and just generally enjoying the day. Those two will be the real fishermen. I'll be soaking a wacky-rigged plastic worm while gladly enjoying keeping the boat positioned with the trolling motor. Hopefully I'll have a picture of two to share. Especially hoping that Casey'll catch his first musky.

Decided the grass will be there tomorrow. Hehe "May" go out later and knock it down. Was sighting in the pellet rifle on the porch and about died. That has to be the hottest place on the property. Do not like feeding bluejays and blackbirds. Gonna be a few less of 'em around here, shortly.

haven't had my air on yet Cane, it has been cool enough at night I guess, another thing every other year I always had it on in the truck and would get home and die in the heat, now I have to mow the grass every other day and am getting used to it I guess.
sounds like the braid did the job, but not the drag Butch, nor the netter for that matter, that was too bad, it is early, there will be another one before the week is over.

your trying to say it was a quiet ride back to the cabin Butch??, that was too bad, it happens and they make that big lunge, all you can do is wave.
sounds like the cowboys are having good luck, they will have to go on a diet when they get home LOL
if it makes you feel better, I---am going out and cut the grass because it is s'pose to rain for the next few days, yea, knew it would

Butch,
Sux on the fish, "might" hear about it for a time. Hehe
Could you do me a favor, if'n you get to town?
When we were in Canada, I bought two stickers for the boat. (See the bad cell phone pic) when I got home, only had one. Probably never get back up there, so, could you pick me one up and mail it when you get home? The one I have on the boat measures
4" X 6 1/4".
Would really appreciate it, but, don't go out of your way to find one. Thanks!
Gino

Hell-o from the North Pole. Good news....bad news........Good news, Jon and Doug went after crappies this morning and we went the other way. They got their limit in less than 2 hours. Smallest was 11 1/2" and the largest was just under 15". Wild Bill and Mustang Sally also got in on the action. We got a17" walleye and 2 northern under the slot. Bad news......Linda hooked into a northern and when she finally got it to the boat, the DANM net man missed it on the first pass and it never came back. Biggest ever since we have been coming here. Guess who really feels bad!!!

Butch, glad everyone is having a good time. You tell Sally good luck, be a record two years on a row.
pffffft, of course Jon is catching more fish this year, I tried to take Doug under my wing, but didn't get a chance to teach him every ole Injun trick I know, so imagine Jon is taking advantage of the poor boy. Was wondering how the catching was gonna be with the ice going out so late. You keep an eye on those two cowboys, if you see them using the red marker buoys I loaned Jon, it is worth two fish to me.
imagine there aren't many weeds by the Islands either, that sure changes things for the perch guys, being early like this, it is a long ride, but should make the catching good down by the little water falls. Also Times Square.
Good Luck Y'all, be safe.

Weather has been great except for the wind yesterday. We have had some good meals already and put a few in the freezer. For some reason today, 90% of the walleyes we caught were all around 10-12",so we practiced our catch and release. Jon's new boat is working great and they are flying all over the lake? Found a new spot for walleyes that he never tried before. Wild Bill and Mustang Sally are up and she is hoping to catch the biggest Walter this year also. Last years 33" will be hard to beat. The water is higher than last year and there are no reeds up on Carter lake. Our favorite northern catching spot. Hit it twice and not a single northern there yet. Got 2 in the freezer from around the islands, though.
Jon said, that for some reason, he is catching a lot more fish with Doug than other years!!!!!....wonder why???
Later
Butch

was a great weekend on the flowage, 6 eyes (two of us) Friday night. 4 Sat morning , chased crappies sat evening got about 15 nice big ones, kind of worried about the spawn this year looks like they are going to absorb their eggs. Chased gills this am in the shallows and picked up 15 as bigger and bigger than my hand.
