Cabinbum- My dad and I had a somewhat similar experience last year. We wanted to apply as a group and the clerk did not know how to do it. She did what she thought was correct and my dad questioned it. So, she called the DNR hotline and found out she was entering things incorrectly. It was quite difficult then to correct the problem, but 1/2 hour later, it was straightened out.
It ended well because we both got tags for the correct zone and had a wonderful hunt, but it might not have if my dad hadn't questioned it. The moral of the story is: Double check all bear applications.
so, my kid draws a tag for zone A. thing is thats not what he applied for. our cabin is in zone B. only thing we can think of for the screw up is that the clerk who punched in the info at the place of purchase hit the wrong zone and he didnt catch it. oh well, guesse we have to make the best of it. good luck to all bear hunters this year....

My dad and I had AWESOME success hunting zone B last year. We both shot very nice bears in the St. Germain area on opening day. Mine was 262# and my dads was 316# (both dressed weights on actual scales- not estimated). I shot mine after only 2 hours in the stand and my dad passed on a smaller one and shot the nice one later in the day. We hunted with Steve White, who is pretty active on this site. He has a TON of very active baits, which he has been maintaining for years. He has a nice package of lodging, hound hunts and bait sitting, depending upon what you want. For 2013, hounds go first, and hounds are Steve's favorite. Give him a call. We were very pleased. The way I look at it, if you wait that many years for a tag, go with a guide like Steve where you are almost certain to get a bear. PM me if you want more details.
I hunt them/train every year in B as well. Cant be far from you bowhunter. I'm right in st germain. Got baits scattered all over the area. Just killed a coyote not 2hrs ago right next to the power station. I MEAN RIGHT NEXT TOO!!
Working that's a familiar pic to me. You must be hunting with I think it's Waterdog on here.
