King Buck.....shenanigans being played by B&C? What's your thoughts?

How about run, run away. Nice try again to drag all of B&C into this for support. Like I said on the deer talk now show. The over whelming majority of scores are good guys and score for fun and love of antlers. Its just a few in it for the wrong reasons. GV you can't fall this easy, what is your posey going to do without you? Called out and can't back up the big talk. Ron has been a trouble maker since 1995, but this is what he was asked to do since then 1) Panel in 1998 2) Teach scoring to new scorers in 2006. 3)Score the last big game animal that Teddy Roosevelt ever shot 4) His photo in the latest scorers manual. Yep he is awful isn't he? GV he does more for B&C in a couple years than most will do in a lifetime, and you guys pitch him aside like he is dirt, SHAME ON YOU! Remember with never getting payed.

By the way I have 2 hunting camps and we have fun at both of them. To be honest deer scoring isn't mentioned much, we go by weight of deer not antler size, just so you know.

Times sure have changed in hunting. Deer camp used to be about friends, family and good times. Hunters were so excited to fill any buck tag with a spiker making people happy. Well put, king- I agree with this 100%!

Yup they still are....people like Jay are getting the "not invited" to camp a lot more though.......tough being a total tool then point the finger at everyone around you.

The prolonged agony of this needless fiasco has been both destructive and instructive.

Destructive because it erroneously denigrated a good organization and some of their very good people. Shamelessly aided by the most yellow "journalism" possible. (And unfortunately, those "professional" hacks are still fueling the fire.)

Instructive because it educated a huge measure of people who knew nothing about Boone & Crockett scoring. The scoring system and philosophy are indeed that stringent........intentionally. The standard is the typical antler configuration of millions of 6-point, 8-point, 10-point, etc....deer that nature produces every year. Is it difficult to achieve that standard in conjunction with the necessary size to be a world record? Yes. Intentionally.

It's my opinion that the Boone & Crockett Typical standard is more necessary now than any other time in history. The grotesque racks that some "superior genetics" farms are producing are ample justification.

The King Buck is an outstanding trophy. A buck of several lifetimes. Unfortunately, it will forever be linked to a cadre of complete scoundrels. And believe me........that's being kind.

Secondly, I also agree with King's comments about what hunting used to be like. My dad and his brothers are still happy to get any buck. Even though I have tried to change their ways, it has been to no avail. And I am starting to think they are right. Years ago the jealousy of killing a big buck just wasn't there and everyone was happier. Now its all about antlers and size, when someone does get a buck the first question is "whats it score", who cares. This whole arguement about world records is just getting sickening. I hope this deer, Jay F, B&C all go away and the sooner the better. Lets get back to what hunting is about; peace and quiet, relaxation, and maybe a little venny for the grill and memories with close friends and family.
