DO a search on this buck on Lake Link, there is a thread with page after page of why it's a non-typical. It's a beautiful buck but according to B&C's scoring system it's a 180" typical deer.

I believe according to B&C two of the tines were determined to share a common base. That would make one of the tines a non-typical tine and therefore a deduction.

What makes this rack non typical? IMHO it looks like a typical whitetail.

I think until people realize that B&C is a club and only a club will we be able to move forward. If you don't want to join a club because of certain criteria you don't have to. You have SCI and the Buckmasters scoring systems to use if you like. I personally only reference a deers gross antler score. In my opinion B&C should not change they way they do things, it has worked very well for many years. Hunters have made the B&C system the most popular system, it is up to them to decide who scores their deer. This only seems to be a problem when we have a contender for a B&C record.

I personally think deer should be scored on their total inches. Deducting inches from a trophy deer is just disrespectful to the animal.

This is a game changer. The north east big buck club? Wow.

OH boy here we go again! The King buck is a great buck but the way B&C scores deer it's no where close to a world record.

Deer & Deer Hunting apparently hasn't received the word. But....it's interesting to see someone so dedicated to frivolous jousting. Love the opening statement of their article..... "In a move that could forever change how white-tailed deer antlers will be scored in the future...." Doubtful. Must be another subscription run.
