Ontario Moose Hunts
1/19/13 @ 4:50 PM
Looking to go on moose hunt in 4-5 years. Went to all canada show and talked with some outfitters, Walsten Flyin Outposts seem decent and somewhat reasonably priced, wondering if anyone had info on them or could recommend any place else.
Thanks White Frenchy

Clarksresorts.com Talk with Wayne and Karla, they also run a pretty sweet outfitting service. Considering we found two awesome sheds this year, and a ton of moose sign, including four sightings in our 7 day fishing trip.... We weren't even looking for sheds. SPLIT pm me for more info or just call the clarks.
Best outfitter in Ontario for moose is Duayne with thousand lake outposts. We are hunting with him again in 2014 and have one of his flyin camps booked for the whole season. Over two weeks of moose hunting the next best thing to elk hunting. We have four guys hunting the whole season and we all have bull tags. The hunt is also any weapon due to the hunt taking place in such a remote area. If your looking for the once in a life time moose hunt I would go with pink mountain or scoop lake in British columbia both great camps. PM if you want anymore details on any of these camps as I have been to them before and have had excellent experience with them.
Check out Kashabowie Outposts . The owner Fern , is an archer and knows his stuff .
Also , for a do it yourself drive in hunt, check out Pasha Lake Cabins . Great prices but, your on your own .
You Tube is another source of info on Ontario Moose Hunts , specially if you are an archery hunter as I am .
One other important thing to consider is if you plan on going with a group you will most likely only get 1 Bull tag per camp. Might sound fine until bubba shoots a small bull the first morning. You will usually get 1 bull tag, 1 cow and 2 calf tags per 4 hunters. I have looked into these trips several times but can't seem to find a place who will offer multiple bull tags per group.
just a suggestion, make sure you understand how the outfitter hunts moose. Ask and make sure you are on the same page. Moose especially you may be disappointed if you think you are going to call spot and stalk, and then find out they are just going to motor you around in a boat. Just saying ask, have been on enough guided and semi guided hunts to know that your expectations and what will be delivered by the guide are seldom the same. Make sure you have some quality knee high rubber boots
good luck
have fun GF
