Just to compare, my gloves are XL. I took this picture today out by Larsen in Outagamie Co.

Looks like wolf to me. I see where the claws scraped the crust on top of the snow. Also the track is narrower than it is long, that points away from any kitty or bear both of which show a more rounded track.

Is that a deer track in the bottom left corner of the OP's pic? If so, its quite a bit smaller than the track you are all debating. Assuming it would have melted the same way. I'm not looking at the whole depression in that corner, within that.

All the tracks were on deer trails. The odd thing to me was there wasn't a whole lot of deer sign compared to winters past. Everything I have seen online I think it's a lion. Hopefully with fresh snow I'll be able to get some more...

I just want to see bear tracks so bad I see them everywhere I look. That, and it's nice to see how long these go on at times. It's pretty obvious. No claws mean only one thing! Well manicured LABRADODDLE!

I don't know if the pic loaded however, Steve..I respect and agree with any and all of your comments but I just don't see where you get a bear track out of that.. One is a lion track and one is a bear track..pretty self explanatory.

I don't know what the tracks are, but I do know that "squatchy" is my new favorite adjective. Big Smile

Id take bear over cat but a few things still lead me towards canine. He said the tracks were 'everywhere '....what that means exactly..only he knows. Would a bear be wandering around in January?? (I really don't know, maybe they do that) . And he said all the tracks were pretty much the same. Isn't a bears hind track noticeably longer/larger than the front? To me, that track looks like the melted ones in my yard from my Shepherd.

WOW, is the first thing that comes to mind. Still in that first cup of coffee though. The op's pic is very clear to me. First look at the back pad itself. The length and shape of it says bear all the way. Canie/feline would be more rounded then long like in the pic. Will even take on a bit of a triangle shape. Notice how long that back pad is. The next thing that jumps out at me is the toes. Their position in relation to the pad also says bear. It appears that the 5th toe can be seen. ALthough it does look a bit melted or snow was knocked into it. But does look like it is there. No matter how I look at that track it says bear to me all the way.

Looks kind of squatchy. Female squatch. 468.5 pounds and 33 years of age. Any more infro..........what are her likes and dislikes? Color? Food? Introvert/ Extrovert? Those do look like beagles or small bodied walkers.

pretty impossible to tell from one track that's melted out. just a tip for everyone: in the future, take as many photos as you can of as many different prints as you can. sometimes its impossible to tell anything from one track, but with 3-4 you can pretty much get everything you need to know.
