243, then use it for deer too. I like my Remington Model 7 'Predator'.

I shoot a AR 15 .223 and my dad shoots a tc encore in 22-250 with a vortex scope with lighted retical and you can change the brightness.Vortex makes really nice scopes at a really good price.

i have hunted them with a 22-250, 220 swift, but i actually prefer the 243 remington bdl, drive tacks with it and seems to reach out just alittle better. i also can use that rifle for other thin skin game.

AR-15 in .223 simply because of cheap(er) ammo. And they are a blast to shoot. I would recommend that you build one yourself.

Are you just looking to kill them, or will you be skinning and selling the hides? If your just killing them, then use your deer gun. If you will sell the hide (and get a decent price for it) then choose a smaller caliber like the .223 or 22-250. And use a fur friendly bullet.

have shot em with buck shot, 30-30, 30-06, semi auto .22 (shot it 7 times before it dropped) and 308.....dropped one dead in its tracks at 450 yards with the 30-06 with 180 grains.......dont go enough to buy a gun specifically for shootin yotes and after shootin that one at 450 yards i dont really see a need to as far as actions, either get a bolt or semi auto, bolt for longer range, semi auto with a banana clip if you arnt a crack shot Cool

the best coyote gun is a 30.06 180 grain or a 300win mag

.222,.223,22-250,.220 swift are all great rounds. If you reload or only plan on sighting the gun in and hunting the .220 swift and 22-250 are probably better as they are flatter shooters but ammo can be very costly compared to the others. If you plan on living at the range, .223 ammo is pretty darn cheap and plenty flat enough for longer shots. I love my .222 but it has it's limitations as does my shooting ability. As far as platform that is for you to decide. Love my AR but my bolt action comes with me most of the time.

22-250 all the way. BUT....for me a 300 yard shot opportunity happens a lot. With the .17 and 223........not really as accurate at those ranges. A .17 I would not take shots over 100 yards. Depends on you situation. An AR 15 with the short barrel.........hmm I don't know if you shoot long ranges.

I shoot a 22-250 savage bolt action and love it! I won it at a WWA dinner a few years. I have shot a double with it too. The guys that I hunt with mostly have AR-15 in 223. They let me take all of the long shots (250yrd +) because I can hit a dime at 400 yards with it.

I really like using a .223 caliber rifle for a dedicated "dog gun." And while there are many fine bolt action .223 rifles out there, it's tough to beat a good AR-15 style rifle (chambered in .223) as a coyote gun. With a bolt action, it's tough to score on a double when two come running to the call. But with an AR platform rifle, it now becomes much easier... Formerly Steve @ G & S
