Who's applying for a tag? How are you going to hunt(bait, call, dogs)or are you going to trap. I going to apply as soon as I can ...I see the Licenses part of the DNR website is down today so hopefully they are adding the wolf application! Wink

I've lived around these animals for quite a few years now, they are NOT opportunistic scavengers, thats a yote , a wolf is a highly efficient killing machine, second only to the abilities of a shark...hunting with hounds is never going to fly with hound hunters....they have prized dogs they are losing now to wolves during bear training and hunting...and those are no fi fi dogs.

I think you could get away with running hounds on em. Running coyotes every winter we sometimes accidentally get on a wolf and they run the same as a coyote. Probly a good idea to have a few more dogs on it though to be safe

I am not applying so you boys up north have a better shot at getting a tag. Hopefully those that will use them will get them.

You can not use meat or any type of road kill for baiting Wolves. Only scents are allowed.

i have hunted deer for 40 years in douglas and bayfield county and there has always been wolves around, more so in the last 10 years. i can honestly say i have only seen 3-4 wolves, tracks im not counting, i really dont see how the wolf can even be hunted, way to smart to be even seen, for those of you that feel the need to hunt the wolf i wish you good luck.
