January River Series update Central Wisconsin River Series- Presented by Minn Kota and Humminbird Hello! Here are a few items of interest concerning the Central Wisconsin River Series for 2012 that you may not be aware of. It is our hope that we can send out an update every month this year to keep you up to date!

We have had a few calls and emails asking if a team has to fish in every qualifier. NO, you can fish the qualifiers as you would any other type of open tournaments. Fish one, two or all three! That is up to you! Of course the more you fish the better odds you have of winning TEAM OF THE YEAR!

Right now as I write this there are 10 early bird spots left open in the championship. That is, if you pay for all three qualifiers and the championship you are guaranteed to be in all 4 events. So, get your entry form in early! (We also will have a special prize package for one lucky team selected from the early bird entrants!)

Sponsors are still coming on board and supporting the circuit and in turn the angling teams. Check back to our website regularly and check on what new sponsors have come on board! While you are there check on the sponsor news section, there you will find valuable information from our sponsors!

As you know, there are some bonus points that can be gained to help your team in the season TEAM OF THE YEAR award. At each qualifier, teams are invited to bring a grocery bag of non perishable food; in return you will get bonus points to help you in the Team of the year standings. AND the food will be donated to the local food pantry in the area we are fishing! SPONSORS can help out as well by donating cash that will be used to buy more food for the pantry! (So TEAMS! Don’t forget to bring the food for the points!)

Registration is going very well for the entire series! There are only 10 spots left in the early bird special. That is, where your team can pay for all three qualifiers and the championship. That locks you in for the boat numbers for the qualifiers, and locks you into the championship as well!

One note, your team does not have to fish all the qualifiers to be able to fish the championship! You can choose to fish one or two qualifiers and qualify with a good weight and get in that way too!

Some teams are entering the qualifiers and using them just as "opens" - you can do that as well!

In this time of the year “giving” is a major part of our life. One would hope that this feeling and action of giving would last all year long.

One of the things that makes me glad to be part of the Central Wisconsin River series, is that the angling teams that participate in all our events, get the chance to “give back” to the communities they fish in all year long.
 

At each event, each team has the opportunity to bring a bag of non perishable groceries to earn some valuable “bonus points”.
 

This much needed donated food will be given to a local food pantry in the community that the event is being held in. Our anglers will be giving from their hearts directly to people that need it the most.
I, on behalf of the Central Wisconsin River series Staff and Anglers, hope you also can join in the giving. If you come to one of our weighins, bring a bag yourself! You will in turn make yourself feel good about the giving, but you will also be helping those right in your own community.
