Hunting turkeys from a blind is easy,if you can find birds, the tough part.Unless a blind is flapping in the wind they seldom pay any attention to it it's almost cheating. There are some guy's that can get them with out a blind I have shot a couple in the fall with out a blind by waiting for them to walk behind a tree, that would work in the spring also.Set decoys and do not call much after the bird is with in 50yd's or so let the decoys do there job.Shoot for the wingbut.

Got some Guillotine heads last spring for my b-day. Took them out and leaned one on the side of the blind and put a nice V cut in the blind. At least they're sharp. Can't wait for this spring to kill a bird with them Big Smile

you got to hit em good or you'll watch em run or fly away. I do not head shoot them. Go to archerytalk, there are a bunch of good threads that will show you what you want to know.

I also was considering trying to hunt with the bow. can I just nail one through the side and put em down, or do I have to try a headshot? I got some fixed blade tru-fire 3 blades to burn up and 3 days off work. dont want to wound one and have it fly away with the arrow either. what do you guys think?

GP, it is extremely hard to draw on a bird without them seeing you. THey are not like a deer, they will NOT watch you draw. Turkey's eyesight is super good, I'd be willing to bet many do not kill turkey with archery equipment without somekind of blind.

Besides a big arse giant tree blocking your draw and then let em walk past, I have no idea's or tips for you. Guns are a different story, you can kill one with ease regardless of what you do or where you hunt.

I am planning on using magnus bullheads this spring to take my first turkey and was wondering if i should use the arrows with 4 fletchings that magnus suggests or if my deer arrows with 3 fletchings will work? thanks for any info

Scored twice with the bows, once with a compound and the other with a recurve. Great sport at a great time of year. Did miss another at 15 yards walking, shot in front of him(sum ne betch) Lips Sealed almost cut his beard off Doh! good luck to all this year.
