Mathews Bow Grips
6/1/13 @ 10:35 PM
Im looking to switch the grip on my helim to prevent bow torque. I have yet to shoot any mathews bow with anything but the classic wood grip. Im looking to hear other peoples thoughts on the focus or torqueless grips or any other grip thatll prevent bow torque. Thanks for the input.

Ok here's how to fix the Mathews grip issue. First take a hair drier and warm up the grip. They are glued on with epoxy so you gotta soften it up to get them off. Try to avoid prying on it so you don't scratch up the receiver. Once off you can usually heat your house with that old grip for a couple winters. Now take the bow and toss it in the trash and go buy yourself a real bow. Problem solved!
Interesting article in Field and Stream had reported removing your grip all together had a big impact on accuracy. Basically the thinner the grip, the less hand torque, better accuracy. I know a couple guys on this forum have switched to the focus grips and thought they were much better than the Mathews 2x4.
