Well, I decided to give these Swhacker expandable heads a try this year. I have hear a lot of good things about them, they look simple to use, but I am still not convinced. There web site had them priced at by 3 get 3 free,(6 for $34.00) so I thought that was reasonable and bought them. Just wondering if anyone has tried them and if so did they like or dislike them and why. Thanks, GS

Let me clarify this, I am not switching to a broadhead with hopes that they are going to help me out of a bad shot. That claim by the commercial is completely ridiculous. I am looking for a quality expandable, that will work correctly 100% of the time. The only expandable that does this so far is spitfire. Every other expandable I have tried is junk(imho). The swhacker info claims that they will not have the problems of other heads, by looking at there heads I do believe them, but I will still be doing some tough testing with them before I shoot an animal with them. gs

I've bowhunted for over 30 yrs and have used several brands of broadheads. Wasp, razorbacks, muzzy, thunderheads, spitfire and now swhacker to name a few. Shot placement is by far more important than the brand of head you choose. With todays high speed bows mechanicals seem to be the way to go.(unless your stuck in the 80's and a diehard fixed blade fan) I am impresed with the ability the swhacker to drive through bone & that is why I decided to go with them. May have a complaint in a few years......time will tell. Lips Sealed Wink

I have used spitfire for the last 10yrs. Never had a bad experience until 2yrs ago. My broad head did not make it through the shoulder blade on a beautiful 8pt. I decided to try the swhackers after watching the demo on tv. I used them for the first time last year, shot a 10pt that didn't get out of the field I was sitting by. He went about 50yds with blood instantly pouring out his side. Also, shot a doe & my shot was terrible! She went about 25yds and laid down. It took a good 10 minutes but she never stood up. My new saying is Swhackum' don't trackum'

I know someone that uses them and they've never had any problems that I've heard of.

Well the swackers came in the mail today, they look all right, I was unaware that they used shrink bands to hold them closed that is kind of a negative. I will test them out on Wednesday and report back. Does anyone have trouble with these opening in the quiver?
