DO NOT let ethanol gas sit in your gas tank over the summer.

Clean it. I take mine to the you squirt 'em car wash and clean the engine, cover the air intake. Once dry at home spray the cables linkages wires etc. with silicon. Fill to at least 3/4 tank add seafoam, grease all fittings, run on the stand for 15 min. Mothball generously, keep the track off the ground, cover. If anybody wants a good older sled I have 2 for sale. 92 Wildcat 700 and a 93 Vmax 600. Both about 1,000 miles. No dents or scars.

Obviously it would depend on the type of sled you have, but this will provide some general guidelines: http://www.goldeagle.com/UserFiles/file/Storing%20Your%20Snowmobile.pdf Personally I use non-ethanol premium fuel in the tank.
