Trailer light plug
1/14/13 @ 2:33 PM
I replaced my atv trailer lights a couple of years ago. I found out yesterday that my 4 prong plug was corroded severely and failed yesterday. 3 posts came off when I disconnected it at the landing. Does anyone make better quality plugs than what fleet sells? It seems like they could just use a little more metal and have those things hold up for more than a couple of years.Thanks. Mrt.

I've never seen a better solution. The fittings are standard, so if something were to be changed, there would need ot be a retrofit of some sort available. The key is maintenance of the connectors (grease) and of course you've read that. Kinda sucks to learn the hard way. I always try to wrap mine up in a way that water can't sit in the connector at all, (prongs down) under the tongue.
