hate to break it to ya lecrotech but you take that thing out on the lake and your going to get spanked by 9 out of 10 sleds, wildcats were fast back in their day but sleds nowadays are geared way lower, run alot bigger tracks for better hole shots plus almost 20 years of technology in clutching, skids, carb to fuel injection.....theyll all leave you in the dust on the start and youll be playing catch up because the only thing youll possibly have on them top speed because of your low profile single ply track and 8 inches of rear susp travel......dont get me wrong i love older "muscle" sleds but the wildcat didnt stand a chance against the triples let alone the triple triples which are losing theyre rep out on the lake to big 1000 and 800cc twins and 4 strokes

I'll take the bet too. Although the wildcat was the cats azz back in the day, times have changed. 01 mxz 800, ready to take the challenge. Edit: won't race a half mile though, my sled would be well topped out before that.

93 WC was rated at 100 hp, i would take that challenge, i weigh 170 and the 99 srx600 is rated at 127 hp plus i have clutching and a few other mods, hell ill even bring my two buddies they both have 99 srx700s which were rated at 140 hp Tounge Out on another note my brother has a '88 wildcat 650 which is carbed, he put a zr clutch on it and it is pretty fast but the srx is in a whole different league http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1G4o7yARKSw vid of my srx racin a couple of guys out on the lake last year Lips Sealed

How about my GF of about 135 pounds on her "93" unrestricted Wildcat EFI. Had it in the shop last year because it hadn't been run in 12 years. The mechanic was trying to warn me about how fast it was, told him it was her machine and he freaked. Title for title, no studs, on snow, 1/2 mile, Lake Petenwell.

Have to agree qs. It's a zl on steroids. If you can get the 03 zr900, you won't be disappointed. Tounge Out

if you can buy a zr over a zl, better shock package/calibration if you do any aggressive riding as well as more agressive clutching and the zr's engine puts out a couple more ponies due to ignition timing and different porting

ahhh, I get it now haha. always liked the zl, especially the fi. I'm hoping for a saweet winter to tear some trails up this year, if not the lakes and UP will have to do again.
