sportsman x2, wet ride?

I have a 2008 sportsman 500x2 and after driving a regular sportsman for many years, i think that I like the change into a bigger machine? the only problem is that when i hit any water(even just little puddles) on the trail i ware it from my ankles up to my a$$! has anybody else noticed this? And has anybody come up with a fix for it? I believe its because its a little longer frame on the x2 has created a tunnel affect for water to spray up and out just below both side panels and out into the floor board area(this has never happened to me with my regular sportsman)
