Fishing Reports:
Just stopped down by the lake after running some errands. Fog is super thick report of a few boats trolling in close with some success, long leads and #3 jplugs or silver hordes. Pearl colored ones producing good. Cooler watre finallyis starting to make its way in. While there I noticed a bunch of fish swirling on the surface by the launch ramps. A customer had some success also on the pier using golden shiners on the bottom and a few bonus perch on large fat heads. Will keep this posting going to follow the fall spawn run.

went out 27th checked waves with NOAA, it said 1 to 3ft so we headed out and got on the water around 9am. as soon as we got out past the break wall/lighthouse a strong south wind hit us. waves were 2 to 4 and building! decided to take the risk and keep going got out to 120fow and seemed like it would be fishable but we werent marking any fish! so we decided to keep going got out to 200ft waves still 2 ta 4 still not marking any fish so we kept going! went all the way out to 370fow and started marking fish. quite a few too! decided to start there, waves seemed like 3 to 5 out there! very rough. trolled north the whole time out there cause we sure as hell werent going to head into the waves! got first fish bout fifteen min after we setup nice 7lb rainbow! caught 5 more within the next hour n a half ta 2 hrs. waves got even bigger now they were in the 4 to 6ft range! caught 3 more in the next 45min. my dad noticed that our gas gauge was under an eith tank so we decided to head in. when driving back in hit some waves that were easily 7ft it was getting wilder by the min. took us hour just to get back in. when we pulled in our gas gauge decide it was going to stop playing tricks on us and it all the sudden said we had half tank! ow well it was probably a good thing. went 8 for 16 in the end. not to bad considering the conditions!
tried slide divers vs dipseys today and i was right think the fish were scared off by the dipseys. we caught 1 fish off a dipsey, 4 off slide divers, and 3 off riggers. most hits came on the slide divers, even over the riggers! so they do seem to wrk better than dipseys.
all fish came off spoons again!!!!!!
best depths were 35 to 60 down in 280-350fow

went out 26th and pretty much sleighed the fish! best day we have ever had!!!!!!!!!!!!!
started fishing around 730am in 250fow had our first fish around 815 picked up 6 more between 830 and 11. after 11 headed out to 370fow and had a fish rite away! didnt even have all the poles in the water. from then on we hit a fish about every fifteen min to a half hour! fished until 330pm and ended up going 18 for 26! best depths were between 35 and 65 down 80 percent of our fish came on our two riggers. spoons spoons spoons! thats the only lure that caught fish today! tried flashers and flies tried dodgers and flies and also jplugs. dipseys did ok in the AM but after we moved out we only got 3 hits on them. thinking the dipsey was scaring the fish away from the lure!
our limit constisted of 2 lakers 2 kings and 14 rainbows! (our first two lakers ever) had a really nice laker get off at the boat rite b4 we called it a day. thinking it was around 12lbs
heading out 27th again going to try slide divers instead of dipseys. will report when i get back. hopefully it will be as successful as today was!!!!!!!
hope this helps you guys put more fish in the boat!!!!!

The Rod Hogs gave it a try out of Port Washington Sat & Sun AM. Sat went 5 of 6. Fished in 100 to 160 fow. Found cold water at 45 down. Fished flasher/fly: J plugs. Most action was on flasher/flys. Green combos were our hot colors with white second. Fished 40 to 50 down. The 5 were all 10 to 15 lbs.
Sat PM went out to 200 to 325 fow. Cooler water was 25/30 down. Only had 2 hits on flashr/flys in the 30 to 40 down. Both 8# to 12 # in the box.
Sun AM windy, 3 - 4 footers. Tough holding speeds. Picked up two 8&10# in 185 to 225 fow. Had to go by 830AM. Started at 415 AM.
The worst day of fishing is still better than the best day at work!!
The tall ships and fireworks were great!

went out on the 19th. evening trip. started in 60 fow south of port about a mile and a half to two miles. first lines in water around 6. ran flashers and flies jplugs and spoons from top to bottom and worked our way out to 120fow nothing for two hours. at 8 we made some calls and found out that the fish were in 40 to 90 fow fifteen feet off bottom so we drove back into 85fow and from 815 to 845 rods went crazy had a hard time keeping all them in the water! went 5 for 8 in a half hr! all fish came on glow spoons in 70 to 85 fow down 60ft. after 845 not a bite. also my dads friend from work went out same day but went out 8miles in 250 to 300 ft and went 12 for 14 mix of cohos and kings. they were only fishing 20 to 30 ft down! water temp at lighthouse when we came back in was 67 to 68 degrese. was surprised cause last weekend it was 64. thought it would be cooler but it was actually warmer. guess the west winds really didnt do anything! hopefully we get cooler temps and the winds are back west soon! they have to be starting to stage soon!
hope this helps anyone heading out soon! best water for us this year has been 75 to 120 ft 45 to 60 down
tight lines to everyone good luck!!!!!
When out last night and the water temp on the surface was mid 60's still.
Ended the night 2 for 3. Both around the 8-10 lbs range. Both taken out in 100 FOW down 40-60 feet. One was on a Flasher-Fly and one was on a spoon.

Surface temps were low to mid 60's tonight in and around the harbor and out at sea. A good 15 degrees cooler than they were at the end of last week. Big skunk tonight for the first time in a few years. Marked tons of bait and plenty of fish in the same area where I caught them on Thursday night, but not a single hit... Talked to one other boat at the ramp and only a couple shakers. Maybe the fish just need a day or so to adjust to the changing temps. I'll keep telling myself that anyway!

that cold water is gonna load up on the bottom and then roll over on top. Gonna take a few days. The cool nights are gonna help as well. We had a helluva lot of warm water around....gotta remember that!
