Ice Depth: 11"     Conditions: Partly Sunny     Air Temp: 31° - 35° F

Went out yesterday and enjoyed the great weather. Caught some panfish nothing remarkable the biggest was a 8" crappie. Also caught a bullhead which surprised me. Caught a few northerns nothing that was over the legal limit though.

This lake has so many small fish. Tiny bluegills and tiny crappies. I don't think I have ever caught a northern over 28 inches on this lake either. How do you manage lakes to produce larger panfish? I think this lake has the potential to be a great little lake.

I was wondering what the ice depth was and how the action has been? (if anyone dared to go out) Might try and hit it next weekend if it continues to freeze. Thanks for the info.

Conditions: Cloudy

Had a few hours to waste. Went out and didn't catch a thing. Smaller bass came up to the boat but didn't want my bait. I had one hit but lost the fish when it went into the weeds.

Ice Depth: 9"     Conditions: Snowing

I went fishing by myself and had very little luck with jigging. I caught 6 gills that were considered bait. I had 5 flags within 3 hours. I caught 3 nothern pikes. All were under 20". The bait shop near Helen closed this year. The closest bait shops are Iola and Bevent.

Ice Depth: 5"     Conditions: Partly Sunny     Air Temp: 16° - 20° F

Went out Sat. and caught some small Northerns. 18-22 inches. Caught on shiners and tip ups. It's too bad there isn't any bait shops nearby to buy shiners.

there was a good turn out for the fisheree a couple weeks ago. I had a bunch of friend's out..they said the action was slow. The same old snake norts. The gills were small. One of the guys earned a prize for a 18" bucket mouth.

Ice Depth: 4"     Conditions: Partly Sunny     Air Temp: 36° - 40° F

This report is kind of late, but I was out on the ice dec 5th and caught 2 LMB (small ones) and 4 northerns, 2 really small and 2 OK sized. I fished with a tip up for a couple of hours then moved to a different spot. While I was drilling my second hole, the ice shattered like a window shot with a gun. Scared the crap out of me, so I went home.

Slow going. Was out there for about 2 hrs from 1pm to 3pm. Outta the 6 - 8 people that were out there I didn't see one fish or flag.

Hey giller, I was out there for the fisheree Saturday and had a few flags. Caught a 20" pike and a nice perch. The pike have to be over 26" to keep and only 2 were registered. There were a lot of cars out there and if I had known the ice thickness and the amount of vehicle that would be out there I would have parked on shore. There were a lot of flags flying and they do know how to have fun up there. I'm sure the fishing would be better without all the commotion Later Scotter-otter

Giller, I heard there were 40 - 50 vehicles on the lake over the weekend. With that, I have to believe the ice is plenty think although the aeorators are on the lake now so you will have to be aware of thin ice in places.

Was anyone out at the fishery on Saturday? Any reports on the fishing, weather, accomidations, the Morning Wood Bar&Grill?

There hasn't been a posting on this lake for some time. Does anyone know the current conditions?? I was planning on trying this lake through the ice this year, but I've never fished it before. Is anyone out there able to give me a little advice on general areas to try for different types of fish?

I haven't fished this lake in the summer in probably 10 years. Used to ice fish it quite a bit as spibs stated in previous report. We used to do real good on the crappies and some alright gills, hope to try it again sometime in the near future. No i wasn't at the fishery, last time we were there it was about 30 to 40 below wind chills. Must have been about 3 years ago. That was one cold fishery!
