Fished yest, Sun., from 7am till 1. Tried jigging by Blackhawk with no luck, then went trolling. Holy baby whitebass! I could hardly get my board on the line and would have one on. Was using flicker shads. Finally got sick of taking boards on and off for them little guys and dropped the rods off the sides about 25 ft., used the trolling motor with the wind ,and caught 2 16" walleys, a 12" perch, 11" crappie, a couple sheeps, and 3 or 4 nice whitebass. What a variety. All in all a fun morning. Does anyone know if we are going to lose the hwy. 26 boat launch because of the new bridge going up? I hope not. O.K, that's it

Got out from 630-1200. 10 eyes, 6 short, 3 legal, 1 on the line. Guess that means 7 shorts, ha. Could hardly keep 4 to 5 inch white bass from hitting the rear treble. Probably cost us a lot of shots at the eyes.

broadwaybob - good to hear you got other boat out, should be a great fall. At Blackhawk don't worry about the buoys, the city haven't retrieved them since the flood. NO WAKE HAS BEEN LIFTED on this side but notice still on at Newville. Let it rip baby, just use common since and respect the shoreline and land owners. Peace

Trolled from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm today. Wind made it a little busy when fishing alone. Tough to keep weeds and little white bass off the line. One ok white bass and one 19 in. Walleye.

Trolled today with a mixed bag result. Trying to troll where where there are no whitebass. That seems to be difficult. Walleye were in 6 to seven foot range. Nothing out deeper. The lake water level is dropping fast! We pulled about 1.7 and tried to keep that speed. Faster brought the Whitebass. One 30 inch wisker fish and a 3 keeper walleye. This was the first time ever catching a rock bass trolling. Very white looking color but back in the water. I love pulling boards in the wind. r

Finally got my boat out of the garage and onto the river and lake. Jefferson County indicated that the slow-no-wake was lifted on the sheriff's website. Curious, what is with the s-n-w bouys at the mouth and midway to the 26 bypass? Has someone heard of a new s-n-w regulation for that last half mile to the lake--please advise.

Now for the report: lots of short strikes that I had no patience for by the VFW--saw some small saugers surface like trout around the boat--one 10"er caught and returned. Moved to the lake to try the trolling bite. I found the 12-15" white bass by Carcajou, Pike by Koshkonong creek, watched another boat land some fish by the rockpile, and found legal sauger by Binghams point just as the sun was setting. WHO LET THE 'SKEETERS OUT?!!! Wondering Wondering

Launched at the Anchor at 5am. Trolled Shad raps (size 5 & 7) Got an 18" eye just out of the mouth and a sheepy 100 yards later.(Apprx. 5:15-5:30am) Continued East and got a 13" eye(released) on the tip of the rock point.(Approx. 6:30-7:00am) Continued East and got a 12.5" Perch South East of that rock point.(Approx. 10:30-11:00am) Continued to the "junk pile" and pulled a 24-26" Northern(released).(Approx. 11:30-Noon) And that was it, except for the half dozen 3 to 6 inch white bass that were on for who knows how long. Does walleye fishing in the main lake pick up in the fall/spring? Out of changing lure sizes, colors, depths, and speed....#5 Pink/Perel Shad rap got the eyes, #5 Gold/Red flicker shad got the perch, and #7 Glass/White Shad rap got the Northern. 2.0-2.5 mph was the magic speed. See I DO HELP PEOPLE with my reports!!! Have a good one out there....Get at me when the eyes start hitting I got room in my boat if anyone wants to go!!!

The boat launch at Rock County Dallman Park is open and the dock is in. The water level is down enough that launching is no problem. EMMO
