numbnuts- So I can assume by your genius comment you think my post is going to some how draw tons of fisherman to the lake? For one every fisherman that holds a license has every right to fish this lake and any other in the state. Also, due to the large amount of parking that the launch has I don't think you will have to worry about people over fishing this lake. I was just commenting on the fact that this is a great lake and if you can't get over that then to bad. I would fish this lake if I didn't have a friend that live near the launch. Lucky me. Oh yeah people there is no parking at the launch so look out, got a ticket this year. Hey numbnuts, take care and hopefully you have lots of luck on this lake I know I do. FYI all, and I mean all fish released.

hey woppert wats ur credit card number? nothing like ruinin a good thing
Went out this morning from 6-12noon. Worked shore line on southern half of lake and had some slow action on plastics, yami worms, green w/ red flake was the only color they liked. Had 3 nice LM 17-18in. All from 3lbs to 4ish lbs and all released and in good health. Just amazing lake for being so unknown. Never fished a lake, besides Geneva n Delavan, where LM average in around 3-4lbs. Granted only 3 fish landed but still three very quality. Lots of water to fish here. Had a great time. Good luck and look out for floating bogs.
The bass have been on the bite lately. Plastic jerk baits and gulp leaches on a split shot rig always work for me. I've caught plenty of 5# plus bass the past few years but they have all been 20 inches or better, especially after the spawn.. Heres a few smaller ones from the past week or so.

late report. Went out Tuesday all day and evening. Overcast and rain in afternoon. Had a great day. Was out earlier in May and let me tell ya..........almost didn't come back. Glad I did. Caught about 15 LM bass all day. But all were over 2lbs. Biggest was 5.2lbs and 18 in biggest LM all year for me. Got a ticket at launch, but $10 is like going to delevan so who cares. Fish were caught with Yami worms, green w/ watermellon flake, in very shallow. Fish jumping all over this lake. Lots of action. I will be back as long as I can find a place to park.

Stick with it, i haven't been out there this year. I've caught my biggest bass out of here at 6#13oz. And probably 3 more over 6 #'s thru out the years.
Started bout mid morning with no luck at all. First time on this lake. Tried everything in the box. Lake has lots and lots of great structure that by the looks of them would hold lots of great fish, Very windy, rainy and cold. Pulled out about 3. Spent most of the day looking around and checking out the lake after we noticed the fishing was off. Will be back for sure.

well said reel. im sure ill c u out there 4 some bass action!
stillfishin-
No; the DNR no longer stocks the lake. The lake association now does this, which is funded from Lake Shangrila home owners association fees and the ice fishing derby. HOWEVER, the DNR still can come and "govern" the waters as they do pretty frequently in the summer. They are the only rig that you will see parked at the single spot on the grass at the launch. Like young skillz said, you have to be able to launch and know someone to park your rig, the launch is public but there is no parking, this is why the dnr stopped stocking it (I believe)...
Lake is wide open, havent been out yet, probably wont be until April/May, good luck out there....

Is this a dnr stocked lake? Don't they have to offer a launch and some parking if they stock it with dnr funds that are paid for with the purchase of a fishing liscense? You must be able to park somewhere even if it is a block or 2 away.
