Yesterday afternoon the boat traffic was crazy and didn't settle down until 5:00 or so. Ended up catching one crappie and a sheepie. Today, I caught a couple more crappie along with some nice white bass and a couple small walleye.
During this time of year, does anyone get any slot sized walleye? or am I just doing something wrong

Beautiful evening for fishing. Heres a photo of a 17 incher. Didn't look happ because I was trying to figure ut how to take camera phone pictres alone.

Went out wednesday 8/25 afternoon. I had to make sure I knew how to catch fish still after the day befores dissapointing try at walleyes. I got into some nice big Bluegills. easily had a limit, but I just kept 8 or 9 for fresh eating. I try to only keep what I will eat fresh. Anyone have a tip for me on where and how to get into walleyes, send me a message. I just cant seem to get into them this summer with any regularity.

I dont blame you fishin pole. It is sure nice to see some large perch coming out of here. I have never gotten into them here other than one once in a while when crappie fishing. I went out tuesday 8/24 from, 3 till 7 or so. I tried to find walleye, but didnt have much luck at all. Hard to catch eyes this time of year. Especially since it doesnt seem like they have been following their usuall pattern this entire year. Hopefully in about 3 weeks the bite should turn on.
A couple more added pictures from our trip. One more shot of the two jumbo perch and also look at this eye. I could not believe he hit this bait. Sorry for the shirtless pic! Vince

Kind of a late report from my trip the second week of August guys. We primarily were trying to fish for walleye but due to the hot water temps our trip was pretty weak! We stayed just inside the mouth of the river at near the first sand bar from the lake. We trolled flicker shads and shad raps with very little success all over the lake. Here is another report I posted.
"Well we are heading home today after a week long trip. The water on the lake is between eighty to eighty five degrees which I really think effected our fishing this past week. I trolled all over the stumps in the main lake between the islands and the tressel, Okie bay and the two bays in the moon valley area.
My 13 year old son who I have never really taken fishing in a boat on the lake had a blast. All he wanted to do was catch fish and could really not care what we caught. He did say he wanted to have a fish fry which I failed to do while we were up here. He did however catch a 30" flat head and managed to snag into a 28" carp. Pictures above! I know not the anglers choice but he was happy with them!
Our best fishing was in the right bay of moon valley as you look at the shore. We caught one day about a half dozen undersized eyes and three saugar at 14". Not one legal eye for a whole week. I did catch a few undersized bass out there as well and took one keeper striper.
We then decided to fish for some perch and gills in whalen's bay one evening. No gills to speak of but we did catch some nice perch after 7:00pm right up to dark around 8:30. We fished large flat head minnows on a hook-n-bober for the perch. We went back out Thursday night and caught 11 nice keepers that included two that were almost 11" or over two pop cans long! Friday it rained most of the day and the water went up. My boat earlier in the week just fit and with the rain I was afraid to chance it."
Here are some pictures from our trip.
