Kurt's Guiding
I use all Tooth Tamer Rods rods. Also my reels are kept up to date and can be used for all species that I fish. My transporter on the rivers and lakes is a 17 foot Lowe semi v flat bottom boat with a 60 Jet Drive Mercury Motor.
ITEMS TO BRING:
Due to booked guide trips and tournaments, it is important to call ahead to reserve your desired dates.
I specialize in a 12 mile float trip from Merrill to Brokaw, navigated with my 40hp jet motor, fishing the shallow waters of the Wisconsin River. We catch a large numbers of Muskies yearly. We also have great spring Bass and Walleye trips. MUSKIE FISHING: From opening day of musky fishing in May until late October, musky fishing is awesome. Throwing buck tails, skunk tails, jerk baits, crank baits, and my favorite, top waters, are what my clients and I use to catch these big pigs. Some of my clients biggest muskies have been in June and July. The river is a great place to catch muskies because there is such an abundance of small and large muskies. WALLEYE FISHING: From first ice out until late fall, walleyes are always on the feed. In early spring, I fish current breaks and rocky bottoms using weedless jigs with minnows, twister tails, or crank baits. Mid- to late-summer, I fish the brush and current brakes using weedless jigs tipped with a night crawler or leech. In late fall, I fish the deeper holes of the river using 1/8 to 1/4 ounce weedless jigs tipped with 4-6 inch minnows.
BASS FISHING: Smallmouth bass are very active fish on the Wisconsin River from early * On an exceptional trip down the river, clients and I have seen up to 12 muskies and caught several averaging 36-41 inches. 51-inch muskies have also been caught on these waters. You'll find the best walleye and bass fishing in late July and all of August (some days between 25 and 100 walleye and bass are boated), averaging sizes between 12 and 25 inches long. Don't forget about Bass and Walleye trips in the spring especially in April and May, where 5 lb small mouth bass are not uncommon. RATES:
