I also offer Fall combos with hunting and fishing in the same day. Member of the Hayward Guide Service with over 30 years experience guiding and fishing the Hayward area lakes and hunting in the area including the Chequamegon Forest and Moose lake area where I live.

MUSKY FISHING - The Hayward area is known for it's great musky fishing and has many lakes to choose from. Over the years I've had several fish over 50 inches in my boat and to many to count between 40 and 48 inches. However while some of our lakes regularly produce some real trophies, others are known for action and produce plenty of action from legal size muskies but with over 20 years of catch and release going on even these lakes are starting to produce some nice fish. Over the last couple years we've caught many 40 plus inch fish from these "numbers" lakes and had quite a few days where we've boated multiple 40+ inch fish.

Even when conditions are not the greatest for catching that big one from one of the trophy lakes, and we all know they are not easy to catch anytime, fishing these "action" lakes produces fish and sometimes a real trophy too.

I fish most of the lakes in the area and catching muskies is usually not a problem on most days, it's just the really big ones that don't come easy.

A tip on catching Trophy Muskies, There are definitely times of the year and conditions when your odds of catching that real trophy are much greater. If the time is right, like in the fall or under the right weather conditions, go for the "big one",and other times concentrate on just catching legal fish. By doing this you'll learn more, enjoy it more, and definitely catch more muskies.

BASS FISHING - One of Northwest Wisconsin's most overlooked fisheries is it's bass fishing, both largemouth and smallmouth, and it just keeps getting better!

Many of our lakes provide as good of bassin' as you'll find anywhere and when it comes to smallmouth bass we have a lot of waters that would rank world class smallie fisheries. Every year we catch lots of them from 17 to over 20 inches and we have guests at our resort report catching Smallmouth up to 23 inches long every year!

Also don't overlook the Largemouth fishing in the area! It too is nothing short of spectacular! Some of the lakes I regularly fish for them we catch 30 to 60 or more Largemouth a day with lots of them running 14 to 20 inches.

Whether you want to fish largemouth on a secluded lake in the Chequamegon National Forest, smallmouth on the Chippewa river, or fish the fantastic smallmouth fishery we now have, we'll take you there and I guarantee you'll come back for more.

FLY FISHING - I also offer guided trips for fly angling for musky and bass on Moose lake and surrounding waters including the Chippewa river. We have some of the best shallow water fly fishing for both smallmouth and muskies you will find anywhere!

GUIDED KAYAK AND CANOE TRIPS - Fully guided trips on the Chippewa River or small remote lakes in the Chequamegon National Forest- By canoe or kayak for from 2 people to groups. A great way for the whole family to experience the wilderness and with an experienced guide along the fishing is good too. Catching big trophy smallmouth from a kayak or canoe is fun and a great experience, catching muskies is the ultimate freshwater experience! Both casting and fly fishing trips are available or combination's.

Guide Service Includes

• 8 hours on the water (usually 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with lunch break) But I do a lot of 5 hour trips in the evenings too.
• Safe, comfortable 17' Mirrocraft deep V boat with quiet, dependable Suzuki Motor or a new 17 1/2' Stratos with a Yamaha outboard
• All boat expenses (gas included)
• Fishing equipment (if needed)

• Something to drink as it can get hot during the summer months

HUNTING - While we do hunt different areas, many of our trips are set up in the forests or waters of the vast Chequamegon National Forest. With over 850,000 acres and plenty of game it provides good hunting and you usually don't run into too many other hunters. Plus it offers a wilderness quality that's hard to find without going into some of the more remote areas like in Canada or out in the Rockies.

For Grouse, Waterfowl, Deer, or Small game hunting we can supply you with everything if you need even guns if needed and we also can set you up with lodging or a hunting camp. Just let us know what your needs are and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Guide Rates
Full day for 1 or 2 people is $300 and half day rates are $195

I also offer a 5 hour evening fishing trip in the summer months for only $225. That has been my most popular guided trip as it gets you on the water at one of the very best times and out od the summer heat. Great time to enjoy our waters and great fishing!

Also available is a guided 3 hour family fishing trip, 2 adults and 2 children, for only $150.
