The entire following week you plan and anticipate the next weekend, which never comes fast enough, to revisit the great “hot spot” that produced a full limit of prime fish the previous weekend. Finally the day arrives, you're up early, you load the boat and hustle to the landing. The first thing you notice is the water is coming into shore with more force than last week. “Maybe it will be calmer at the “spot”. You put the boat in the water and venture out, the GPS is set to put you right back over the same hot spot. The waves have not let up; in fact they may be a bit worse. I’ll give it try. You quickly lower the anchor in an effort to lock in on the GPS waypoint position, the waves are too powerful, the anchor will not hold. So you let out another 50 to 100 feet of anchor line, by now you are no where near the “hot spot. The waves have pushed you over the weed bed, or toward the shore and rocks, or out into deeper water. Even if the anchor begins to hold, you are not over the hot spot and unlike last weekend, the boat is not comfortable. The boat is being continuously lifted and dropped by the 2 to 3 ft. waves. Disappointment sets in; you can not hold position and your body can not take the constant hammering of the wave action all day. Maybe I’ll just give up and go to the other side of the lake in the calm protected bay and give it a try. I doubt I will catch any fish, not much I can do about it. – You can rewrite this experience, with the addition of the easy to use GPAS Anchor/Boat Stabilizer to your boats gear. Go back to where you quickly lower your anchor in an effort to lock in on the GPS waypoint position. In seconds you attach the GPAS anchor stabilizer to your anchor line and tie the line to the boat as usual. This time the boat holds position, in fact the anchor takes a better set than usual, since the GPAS absorbs up to 75% of the wave force. The anchor is not lifted or dragged. You are now able to do just what you intended - FISH, and better yet fish with added comfort, since the GPAS allows the boat to ride the waves up and down, eliminating the constant hammering of the lift and drop caused by the wave action. The benefits don’t end there, since the GPAS allows the boat greater vertical lift, the boat is not limited by the anchor line. This extra vertical lift prevents waves breaking over the rim of the boat, maintaining a dryer boat and gear.
You hit the water early and today is a good day. Finally, you are out on the right day. No “you should have been here yesterday”. The lake is calm with a slight chop, but no problem holding position. The fish are biting, “I don’t think there ever going to stop, I should finally pick up a limit.” About 10am, you notice some activity on the lake, gradually the activity begins to pickup, its the “pleasure boaters” not again. The waves begin to increase in intensity, the boat becomes less comfortable, in fact it is starting to move from the original position. Where did the fish go? So much for the limit, I may as well go home and mow the lawn. The fish did not go anywhere, you did. You can rewrite this experience, with the addition of the easy to use GPAS anchor/boat stabilizer to your boats gear. Go back to about 10am, you notice some activity on lake, you attach the GPAS to your previously set anchor line and continue to fish or you anticipate the recreational boat activity and attach the GPAS when you first arrive at the your favorite spot. Either way, it is easy to attach at any time without lifting or repositioning the anchor. The day is not ruined and the limit is possible. Finally, you can fish where and when you choose to fish, in spite of the conditions. What’s more you can enjoy your day on the water, plus with no added effort, protect the underwater environment, by eliminating anchor drag.
