Of particular interest is the impressive variety of original artwork and crafts. Because of its beauty and solitude, the northwoods is of special inspiration to artists and crafts people. Many have moved here, finding the surroundings a continual stimulus to their creative juices. Many have working studios which are open to the public and others display and sell their works in local shops. There are fine wood carvers, sculptors, painters, potters, weavers, sign makers, jewelers, basket-makers, furniture builders, and others. Their works are also unique as gifts to bring back to friends and family. ![]()
