About Devil's Lake... Devils Lake is known nation wide for abundant populations of walleye, pike, perch and white bass. Field and Steam magazine picked Devils Lake as one the top 10 walleye lake in the U.S., in 2002 the lake will host The Professional Walleye Trail tournament, and the RCL National walleye tournament. Devils Lake was picked as one of the top 50 hunting and fishing towns in the U.S. by Sports Afield Magazine. Many national magazines have highlighted our famous jumbo perch winter fishing. Devils Lake holds the state record perch at 2lbs. 15oz. (1982), the state record white bass at 4lbs. 51/4oz. (1986), and state record striped bass at 20lbs. 12oz. (1993). Our lake record walleye is 12lbs. 11oz., we are now seeing regularly northern pike from 15-20 lbs. It's nice to read about our fishery, but you have to experience it yourself to truly understand what a unique lake it is. remember, North Dakota has only 650,000 people in the entire state, if you want uncrowded, quality fishing, then Devils Lake is the place you want to be! Recent high runoff years has brought Devils Lake to an all time high lake level. With the added water, thousands of acres have been flooded providing our fishery with prime habitat to reproduce in record numbers. Devils Lake is in the position to be a premier North American fishery.
