Musky Operations is a professionally ran fishing guide service, catering most of Northwestern Wisconsin. If you are looking for a fun, outgoing, and passionate guide who loves to be out on the water, you found him! I thoroughly enjoy sharing Northwest Wisconsin’s fishing opportunities with both new and experienced people alike. There is nothing quite like the smile and excitement as the result of an exciting fishing trip and the memories that are made along the way. Whether it is a first musky or fast and furious panfish action during the spawn, an exciting experience is the goal I strive to achieve on every outing. It does not matter if you are looking for that trophy to put on the wall or just a flat out great time out on the water, this is your opportunity. I strive for customer satisfaction and will cater to whatever you are looking for and in order to preserve the integrity of the sport and carry on the tradition for generations to come, children are always welcome in my boat!

Musky Trips

Northwest Wisconsin has some fantastic musky angling opportunities! I am constantly trying to pattern these fish and will put forth my best effort to put you on the fish. I welcome all experience levels in my boat and I can assure you that no matter what experience you have with these toothy predators, you will benefit from a trip with Musky Operations. The thrill of the catch is the end goal with Musky Operations but I also strive to share my tactics on different bodies of water at all times of the year and enjoy coaching what I have learned over the years. One thing that I have learned is that no population of these fish is the same and no body of water is the same. I always keep this in mind and use my past experiences as well as up to date electronics to help make your musky trip one that you will never forget!

You will be fishing out of a 20' ranger with a 200hp optimax. There is ample room for 3 people and gear so you can fish in comfort. I use only proven gear that I trust and holds up and will provide you with whatever rods and tackle are called for on any trip. If you have some gear of your own that you wish to bring along and use I welcome you to do so. Rods that I use are typically 8-9' long with high quality bait casters spooled with 100lb superbraid to make sure we don’t lose your trophy.

Additional items you need to bring:

Spring Panfish Trips

Early spring is a great time to get out and fish for spawning panfish such as crappie and bluegills. It is at this time of year that they are on their beds and are very protective/aggressive. It is not uncommon during this period to catch dozens at a time. It is fast paced and can be very exciting. Large mouth bass action is usually heating up by this time too and 3-5lb bass are not uncommon. This is a great opportunity to get the kids out and introduce them to this great sport. Kids are welcome in my boat any time. Whether you are looking for family fun or some tasty pan fried fish, this is the best opportunity there is. I do most of my spring panfishing on the lakes and river systems of Dunn, Chippewa, and Rusk counties. I will provide all of the rods and tackle you will need but if you have gear of your own that you wish to use, I welcome you to do so. Full day trips will include an optional lunch break depending on location. Lunch will be each individuals responsibility but I will always have water and snacks.

Multi-species Trips

If you are looking for several different angling opportunities in one, I can accommodate it. I have some great spots around the region where it is not uncommon to catch 3-4 different species in one outing. Largemouth and Smallmouth action can be good all year long as can the northern pike action. In early spring, my primary focus is for bass, northern, and panfish but it is also at this time that we can really get into the walleyes, especially when they make their annual spawning runs up the numerous river systems in the surrounding area. Once the cool spring gives way to warmer waters in June and July, the catfish activity picks up. If you are looking for a fun, aggressive fish pound for pound, catfish are it. It is not uncommon to catch cats up to 20 lbs in the Chippewa River system and Lake Wissota. I will provide all of the rods and tackle you will need but if you have gear of your own that you wish to use, I welcome you to do so. Full day trips will include an optional lunch break depending on location. Lunch will be each individuals responsibility but I will always have water and snacks.

Ice Fishing Trips

Ice fishing in Northwest Wisconsin multi species fishing at its finest. Ice fishing in this region typically begins in mid December and can run all the way into March. You never know what will show up through that hole on the end of your line. Unlike open water fishing, it is less limited in terms of access. Some of the best ice fishing in the area is on lakes that are restricted to foot travel. My knowledge of these lakes and my up to date electronics will put you on the fish! I can also accommodate larger groups ice fishing than out of the boat. You will be fishing in comfort with the use of portable heaters and pop up ice shelters for those cold winter days. If you have never experienced ice fishing, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed. Trips usually target bluegills and crappie while chasing down tip ups for northern pike or walleye. Full day trips will often be accompanied by a grilled lunch of burgers and brats on the ice. I will provide all of the rods and tackle you will need but if you have gear of your own that you wish to use, I welcome you to do so.
