Something new for Lazy River Boat Rental and Guide Service for 2017.

A new boat has been added to the fleet which will expand our guide services. We will have air boat ice fishing and open water charters, and in the summer we will be giving air boat rides.

We are now taking reservations for the upcoming season, so call early and book your trips.

Had a great weekend with Tim, Mike, and his two children, Livey and Connor. The weather was perfect for having kids out fishing and the fish cooperated. Lot of flags and big northerns and panfish. The kids had a ball catching fish and dad enjoyed watching them have a good time.

Perch are very picky.  I could not get them to touch a wax worm, but caught them on a orange jig head (1/64th oz) with a natural colored berkley power bait (can buy at the ace hardware in LaCrosse) and a spike.  Gills were hitting anything.

Fished Stoddard all day yesterday.  The public boat landing is not usable - the channel that runs in front is open south of the landing and thin/black ice for several hundred yards to the north.  We walked out from the marina and that was all good.  There is 10" of ice way out by the far gap between the islands, but everything else was 12" plus.  We walked way out to the west channel, then all the way down to the south end of the barrier island, then back up and finally finished the day in the crowd between the islands - 2.3 miles round trip.  Wind was absolutely brutal.  Two guys finished the day with 3 gills and a big perch.  We were there from 0900 to dark.  We marked a few fish down near the deep south holes and a few more between the islands.  Drilled at least 50 holes.  Fished elsewhere today.

I was out Sunday (1/22) and the marina had 12" of ice.  Saw atv's running around but heard there was soft spots out by the islands.  Be safe stop at the bait shop and ask.
