Madison area fishermen and sportsmen...we got what we wanted, a hearing on the bill to cross the railroad tracks in Wisconsin(LRB 2303). If it is humanly possible, please attend this hearing or at the very least go there and sign up before you go to work. Support these Representatives and Senators who are trying to help us. You know that the railroad is going to be there...if you know anyone in that area and you think they would attend...send this or share this with them...please. It is at 9:00 a.m. in room 400NE on this THURSDAY. Please pass this around.

Also please call our local Senator and let her know this is important to us! Senator Shilling 608-266-5490 or Representative Doyle 608266-0631.

I'm moving to La Crosse in three weeks and looking to fish with someone. If anyone has an extra spot in their boat and is willing to let someone tag along let me know. I'd be willing to pay for gas, bait, beer etc. I'm mainly a walleye fisherman but am up for anything.

Get the boats out! Todd and Dean caught their limit of Walleye and Sauger below the dam this morning. They were using hair jigs with rosie reds.

Fishing report from the tournament, the weather was nice but all the fish are still in their negative midwinter selves. Had a 3 man group with me and for the second straight weekend the fish would not bite no matter what you put in front of them. I never saw a single flag pop all day out of the 50 tip ups around me and we caught 10 panfish total in our group. Which I guess was really good as many guys never caught a single fish. We took the first place perch and third place gill at .02 under the paid second spot. Ohh, well. That's why it's called fishing and not catching. We still enjoyed ourselves.

It's from 9-1. From the public launch. Should be selling tickets day off. It's called the Stoddard ice fishing jamboree, and they have a Facebook page of you look it up. It will be very busy out there Saturday. Probably about 10 inches of snow on the ice, and there aren't any roads plowed or anything.

The size limits are none for northern, 15" for Walleye, and I don't think there is one for sauger. I haven't heard of much action for pike around Stoddard this winter, and there is rarely any for Walleye or sauger through the ice out from Stoddard. Good luck

can anyone tell me how much snow is out on the ice or can a wheeler get around? also if anyone can tell me a bit about the contest going on this weekend like what time it starts and ends. where to get tickets and when do you have to have a ticket by or can you get then the morning of? any info would be great. Hoping to just have some fun away but to catch fish is always a plus. A bad day fishing is still better than a good day at work.

Hookerup, that's how it is out there. Most of Stoddard is large shallow weed flats. There are a few slightly deeper holes/channels, and the very deep dredge hole by the boathouses.

And yes the public launch is being used safely
