Conditions: Sunny
Hit the water Wed night again with some clients. Good results and smiles all around.

Looking for Big Pre-Spawn fish is fading fast as the water warmed fast, but that just means this post spawn bite is going to be hot for a few weeks.

FISHING REPORT
5/8/13 4:27 PM CST
Hello everyone...Was able to make it out the last few nights with pretty decent results. I found most of the fish on Sunday night, were still pre spawn and on Monday night the fish were spawning heavily. We were trolling in 6-25 fow of water with husky jerks and floating rapalas. Like Robert said below its been a crazy spring. We didn't find any water that was 49 but we did have a temperature range of 39-46 degrees. With active walleyes hanging around the warmer water. This night bite will be lights out the next few weeks and should run into June. Stay tuned for the the video.

Tight lines and good fishing to all!!!

FISHING REPORT
5/8/13 7:23 AM CST
Conditions: Sunny Air Temp: 61° - 65° F Water Temp: 46° - 50° F
Fished yesterday evening with Travis and Lisa, had a blast. Found water temps as warm as 49Deg and as low as 41Deg. The more active fish were in the warmer areas and were 100% post spawn. This has been a crazy spring and these fish are doing there business FAST. The bite is strong though a we boated 14 Walleye lost one at the net and missed a couple other hits. Size ranged from 20" up to 28".

I still have openings so give me a shout, although it looks like this weekend may be a bust of sorts with the wind issues.

The Small Mouth should be getting revved up also and I will be chasing those a bit over the next few weeks when I can. Call me and we can attempt to go do some hand to hand combat with a Peppy Smallie!

Hope everyone made it in safe last night after the wind picked up and really started to blow. Went from glass conditions to some pretty good size waves in no time. Made for a nice wet ride in.

Anyways, banged out four walleye before we got blown off. Missed a few others. Stickbaits as usual. Hoping to get out again soon.

Good luck

Fished this past weekend, had a great trip saturday afternoon into the evening boating seven walleyes and missing two. As mentioned some ice floating around out there. Water temp. around 40 degrees. Bring your camera the shore ice is impressive!! Fishing is only going to get better with post spawners putting on the feed bag. Nice to get out on the bay again! Afternoon and night trips available give me a call. Capt. Scott Big Smile

Same report as many, ice blew out Friday for the most part. Still some big "Bergs" along several points and locations, so be cautious the next few days if you are around Door County fishing.

With that said we had a good night Saturday boating 5 and missing a pair of fish. Nothing too big as of yet but solid fish between 24" and 27". Last night (Sunday) was a bit slower for us, only hooking up 3 fish.

The night bite should explode here in the next week and be strong for a few weeks to come. I have week night and some weekend openings. If you would like to see what night fishing Spring Door County Walleye is all about. Cool

Hello everyone! Just an update on the Door County ice conditions and walleye bite. The bay is pretty much ice free other than some small chunks and will probably be all gone after today. Had someone working Door County waters for me last night as I was fishing the west shore all weekend and the bite was pretty good for his group with a few nice pre spawners! This bite will only get better and should be solid for the next month. Still have night trips available for the opener if any one is interested.

Tight lines and good fishing!!!

Honestly i beg to differ!! " He knows the Bay like no other"!! wow thats a bold statement!! to say the least.Lots of good guides fishing Door County waters or Green Bay for that matter especially locals who chose not to guide but rather fish for fun as well enjoying the sport either way lots of good walleye anglers fishing the Door County area!!

Fishing Report: Been fishing the Sturgeon Bay area with a few friends almost every morning and evening targeting walleyes with excellent results! Ice is approximately 12-18 inches at least where I'm fishing with lots of eyes being caught.Jigging raps and odd ball jigs working well tipped with minnows working 25-18 feet of water. Most eyes being caught are being released with some small males being kept for table fare which is good to see!!!! The "Big Girls" are starting to show up with my personal best through the ice being around 9 lbs, although seen many this last week go 10+ even a few 13+ so that great to see!!

In my opinion the shoreline ice may be around for several more weeks to say the least!! hopefully I'm Wrong!
