FISHING REPORT
5/21/13 9:40 PM CST
Conditions: Sunny Air Temp: 76° - 80º F
Fished from 10am-2pm on Sunday. Went for musky on the eastern lake basin mostly casting the shoreline on the north side. Threw mostly bucktails of the orange/red variety with no strikes or follows.
Mixed in some bass fishing on the western lake basin north shore. Used plastic worms texas rigged, small mepps, and a few crankbaits. Had one hit on the southwest shore. Saw a big fish in the shallows but it wouldn't go for anything we threw at it.
Watched a guy catch 3 large mouth less than 50 ft away from us (southwest docks) but not sure what he was chucking.
Nice weather. Dissapointing fishing results. Still a great day on the water.

The Milwaukee Chapter of Muskies Inc. is proud to present our DNR fish biologist, Ben Heussner.
Ben will be present at our meeting on Tuesday, May 28 at 7:30 PM. As usual, the event will take place at the Elks Lodge in Waukesha.
Ben will be talking to us about the musky report obtained from last year's netting on the lake, as well as other fish that were caught and surveyed. He will also be talking a little about the Walleyes for Tomorrow chapter that was setup to help Pewaukee Lake.
This should be a very informative meeting. As usual it is free for Muskies Inc. members (of any chapter), but we do ask for a $5 donation to non-members. There will be a raffle at the meeting.

FISHING REPORT
5/17/13 8:35 AM CST
Lots of boats were lauching this morning to pre-fish the tournament. It'll be busy for sure, but I would think you can still get out and fish around them. I may sneak out for a few hours on Saturday.
I did get out once this week and fishing for muskies was quite good. This front may make things a little tougher for a while, though.

Any suggestions on a newbie going for Muskie on Pewaukee for the first time this weekend?
I've fished Chippewa Flowage mostly...always throwing black/green baits (double cowgirls, top raiders and spinnerbaits).
Anything specific I should give a go for Pewaukee?

Hello again guys, I am going back on Pewaukee lake in a couple weeks, if you have an answer for me could you please send it in a PM? I am looking for Smallmouth bass and walleyes, the only place I can think of to find them is the rock bar in the middle of the lake, if anyone can help me I would really appreciate it if i can get it. I have not caught anything worth a dam on this lake in a long time.

Anyone have results from the Musky Classic Saturday? I saw the earlier post that 8 were caught? For that tourney does largest fish win or does the double dip win from total inches?
Also, any idea how many boats are registered for the WMT tourney this Saturday? Thanks Big Show

My mistake, a musky indeed, the guy at Smokies set me straight today. Took out the Hobie yak today trolled as usual around the island and off Rocky Point. Caught a few smaller than small largemouth bass trolling a small spinner off the island and caught some small panfish and one crappie in 12ft of water. I did see some fat 15lb or larger carp between the rocks and weeds near the markers 1/4 mile or so out from Smokies in the middle of the bay. Other than that just a wonderful day to be out on the yak. Peddle on.. Fished 11am-3:30pm.

JAMike that looks to be a musky not a pike. The vertical stripes give it away.

FISHING REPORT
5/14/13 8:34 AM CST
Conditions: Sunny Air Temp: 66° - 70° F
Went out last Wed on the Kayak to catch a few fish. Found some nice 1 lb largemouth in the weeds adjacent to the rocks about 500ft behind the Smokies launch to the left near the channel marker. Caught a few on nightcrawlers, all went back. Decided to troll the weed edge from first channel marker to the edge of the island 4-6ft of water saw a 40+" musky but he wasn't interested. I did however troll up some real nice smallies in the 3-4lb range with a spinner bait, snapped some pics and put them back as well. The winner of the day was a nice 35" pike that I found just past the island he was chasing a small walleye I pulled up on a nightcrawler. Started trolling and voila there he was, caught and released. Fished from 10am-3pm.

This is going to be my first summer fishing Pewaukee Lake and am new to the area. My boat isn't out of storage yet so I am looking for some public docks and shoreline that are fishable. Anyone got any tips or locations with open docks/shorelines?
Thanks!!
