FISHING REPORT
1/10/13 3:32 PM CST
Fished the fingers the last couple days, nothing on the tip ups and alot of small gills had to catch ALOT of tiny ones before you'd get the chance at size and even then they still weren't very big. But I was wondering if anyone has ever tried for Walleye through the ice on the opposite side of the "Grade"? I know in the summer time alot of people fish and catch them by the little bridge there, where there's a little change in depth, but never see anyone in the winter, which surprises me considering you can sit in your car and watch your flags.Any one?

Yup nice ones at the fingers if you consider nice 3 to 4 inches. Fished yesterday 6 hours and caught about 30 dinks NO keepers. About 10 people came and went all caught dinks. When I left about 3:00 there was nobody on any of the fingers. Have at it.

Fished the grade for and hour and a half yesterday- dead sea.

No bites jigging. One flag I think the minnow tripped. Others seemed to be having similar luck.

Ice Depth: 4" Conditions: Snowing Air Temp: 26° - 30° F
My first time here was a dissapointment. I figured it was shallow but it was very shallow. I would say tip up fishing is the only draw here and I was set up for jigging so no fish for me. Most people left after a few hours but one guy said he had three fish. Ice seemed to be ok at 4" where I was.

fished the grade today for the first time in a long time.. could not believe the number of bass we caught and seen others catch.. it was awesome watching everyone run for flags.. we caught 9 keeper bass on tipups and had to keep 3 cause they were hooked really bad.. i caught 5 on my jigging rod for gills and lost 3 others.. managed to ice 18 good gills but the bit was really slow.. worked hard 4 them.. ice was 3-4 inches... gl all.. not bad for my first day on the ice...

It was sooo goood to be out on the 4" ice. There was about 20 fishermen on the grade this morning. good to see. Now you have to step out onto the ice. My entry onto the ice was a little muddy. Once out on it verry comfortable. There is open water on the far east edge. We saw most of the fishing action on the south side a little out from the weeds. Two fellas followed us out and set up close and focused on their tip ups. It was sround 11:00 and things started hapening. flags everywhere randomly and regularly . Our tip up focusing followers I believe they cought bass right away and kept a coupple. Another close by fisherman landed a snakey pike and let it go. there was a coupple line snaps throughout the day. It's alot more entertaining when its not your line that snaps. After the Packers kick off, it was time to pack up. We didnt catch any fish . We were running the same rigs as the others just didnt get the hits we wanted. we did see a panfishin one hole. It was sooo goood to bring out the gear and be ice fishing again .

Ice Depth: 3"
fished the grade tuesday afternoon and this morning. on tuesday i caught 6 bass. all were keepers or close to it with biggest at 17 inches. caught all on tip-ups. had at least 6 dropped or broke off. nothing jigging. today caught 5 bass. all keepers from 14 to 18 inches. going to taste great. love bass. used fatheads and tip-ups. 20 lb test line. had maybe 5 drops. and one breakoff. doing about 50/50 on tip-ups. not bad. nothing jigging. ice is 3-4 inches and solid. making ice too. not bad for 3.5 hours of fishing. maybe go out again on monday. maybe catch another limit of bass! yeah! good luck!

Went out today for a few hours. Didn't catch anything, pretty slow. Lot of guys out there with tip-ups out. Lots of flags going up saw a few nice bass and northern caught. There is 3"-4" inches of ice in the areas that I fished.
