I went yesterday for a couple of hours, close to the school . I tried a small rattle trap lipless and a curly tail and i got no bites. i saw several boats going into the water though, i wonder what they are targetting? i will give it a try very soon

If you have a boat try the west shoreline around Newark bridge with a Chomper or similar plastic targeting rocks and deadfalls. Another good weapon is a white 3 inch Kalin grub on a 1/8 oz. jighead fished on a steady retrieve especially in faster water like you find below the dam. Both smallies and white bass are active now. Walleyes are post spawn and certainly catchable.

if anyone that fishes the powerhouse area in rockton il finds a 6'6" ugly stik heavy action musky rod with a stainless tip and a couple of bent eyes it has a shakespeare tidewater linecounter reel on it message me please. my 10 year old son lost his rod last night and it would mean the world for it to get it back to him. we can work out a reward of some type thank you.
