I believe that crane is working on a sea wall and dock for the new mansion going up.

Troy - the crane I'm talking about is nowhere near the bridge. It's closer to Lutz.

Heading up to fish the Fox River on Saturday but have never fished this river in Appleton yet. Looking for some shallow sections preferably under 6 feet. I have a small boat. Targeting bass and panfish. Any help is appreciated!

Late Report- Went out with the flyrod on Sunday and fished from 3:30-6:15. Caaught one smallie and hooked into a carp and lost it, both on a chartreuse clouser minnow. Fishing should begin to pick up as the water warms up a little bit.

As far as I know, the crane is there to do repairs on the bridge.

Late report.... Out on Friday from 3-530, 17 smallies, one at 16" one at 17", all the rest were 14 or under. River is (or was) low and clear. Hopefully the rain we had will dirty up the water a bit. Those spawning bass are easy to spot right now and will become victims to birds or people sooner rather than later otherwise. Water temp was at 66, though I am sure its dropped quite a bit over the last couple days.

Out this afternoon from 330 to 5 or so. Ended up with 4 smallies including a 18" beauty. The bigger girls are starting to move. Saw a few males fanning nests as well. Also caught a 10" crappie on a 4.5" swimbait. Not what I expected at all. Water levels are way down over the last few days. Water temp at 65. Quite the spike, its up about 10 degrees in the last week. Should drop back down over the next week or so if the forecast holds true.

Out tonight from maybe 5-7 or so. Just killing time. Ended up with 9 smallies, all but one were under 12", the other maybe 14 or so and a magnum sheepshead that had to go 10lbs. Tried a bunch of different spots trying to pattern but it was just a random fish, then awhile later, another one. Water temp was pretty consistent everywhere at about 61. Got warm quick.

Out today for a couple hours. 6 smallies, no size. Biggest maybe 13" and 2 sheepshead. Nice day to be on the water. Fish are clearly more active than they have been, probably since fall. Water temps at 57 or so. Lots of moving to pick up a single fish at a time. Its getting better.
