Heading here later today, going to try panfish and walleye later but I've never been on the lake. Probably going to fish bear trap tonight, any suggestions from anyone or at least anything I should know about travel on the lake? Also are there any baitshops around? I'll be coming from Roberts. Any info is greatly appreciated and I'd be more than willing to trade info on the lacrosse area!

drove out on north end, a few shacks out and about at usual places...I fished shallow, about 10 feet deep and had about a 45 minute window before dark with some active gills, nothing huge, but nothing small and enough action to get me to go back.

Saw the first vehicles on the ice yesterday - I did not go out but heard the ice depth was around 16 inches and they were catching sunnies at the north end of Wapogassette.

Hello All,

Does anyone have an update on the current ice conditions? I'm moving to the area in two weeks and i'm looking forward to spending some time on the ice. Being new to the area, any additional advice for ice fishing on this lake would be greatly appreciated.

Big waves on the main lake, no ice that I could see, maybe north end is different

With that water temp the gills will be in, or at the end of their spawn.

Fished about 9:30-2:30 today. Tried trolling spinners/crawlers for walleyes off three weedlines. Nothing. Worked a little south of Sunrise with jig/crawler and slip bobbers. Several crappies and some sunnies. Did not keep any. One nice smallie about 16 or so. For such a nice day, pretty slow. Sunnies are interesting. One female with eggs. Others looked slim. Are they done? Orange jig and half crawler worked along weeds will get you panfish if you want them. Don't know what is up with the walleyes. Usually some small ones around the weeds...?
