Fish are very active on weed edges. Lot of sunnies getting ready to spawn. I  targeted perch a couple of times in the last week. Crawler pieces on small jigs. 6-12 ft. just off the weed line. Lots of bass and quite a few small walleyes. Still a few crappies in the weeds that will hit plastics.

2 of us got on the lake for about 8 hours yesterday.  We chased everything but found the bit very fickle.   6 fish all day  2 small walleyes, a perch, 2 bass and 1 sunny.  Given the amount of time and low amout of fish, can't say any spot was good.  Water was super clear.  Water Temp was 67 or 69, depending where we were.  Don't know if I ever seen so much pre-Memorial day boating on the lake, but it was a picture perfect day.  75 and light breezes.

Was wondering what the ice / shoreline conditions were like on Wapo. Anyone know what the landing is like by Waterside ? Thanks!

Lots of full size trucks on the ice. North end loaded with shacks. 13" ice by the sunrise ramp island area. Good ice.

Fished sat for gills and eyes. Fishing was brutally tough. Fished out from sunrise. In the deep flats se of the island we got into dinky perch that were aggressive. Marked a million lookers near the island and in the cluster of shacks near the boat ramp but they were not in the mood for any color jig. No flags on tip ups in the area. Tough day with nasty wind. Had fun with good friends and learned a little. First time on this lake. Gorgeous lake with pine trees and a neat park at the dam too.

I've been hearing from several people the fishing has really picked up on wapo but have not gotten any specifics. Anyone out there have an update?

Fished a few hours yesterday before it got too hot. Panfish relating to weed edges and over the weeds. And the ever present bass. Very small jig/crawler or slip bobber with crawler was best. I only kept about a 10 or so nice perch for a meal but if you move around you can catch sunnies, too. Not every weed patch has fish, though. I was near the bible camp's west side.

Fished for two hours last Saturday (6/6). Anchored near the island in about 10 feet. Steady, but not fast and furious, action. Some nice sunnies (one or two still had spawn!) two nice perch, a few bass and one really nice striper (or are they white bass?) were the highlights. Slip bobbers and jigging with a leech were the approaches of choice. Water temp was 67 and the water clarity is starting to fade.
