I used tube jigs on this stretch about 90% of the time. Pumpkinseed.

Riversmally or anyone else; I'm looking fishing here for the first time this we'd. Morning/day. I usually. Fish the river around Wausau for smallies. If possible, please pr me with what baits to use that day to save time on figuring it out. If they are the same, great, just want to save time and enjoy the day fishing. Thanks for the tip on my 16' boat being okay to use; didn't try here last week cuz I didn't want to waste a trip if my boat wouldn't work there. Thanks!

You can run a 16' tiller on this stretch no problem. I run a 16'6" Alumacraft Magnum with no problems at all. From Rock Falls Rod and Gun Club boat launch up river the water keeps getting shallower and if you go down river it keeps getting deeper but rocks are a hazard both ways.Good luck, hope you tangle with some big smallies.

I was out over the weekend but the fishing is extremely slow. My neighbor went out with me on Friday evening and he caught four small walleyes and I caught one 20" Northern. Others that we talked to over the weekend were not having any better luck. On Sunday my wife caught one very small small mouth and that was it.

Rottenfisher, that landing was closed a week ot two ago, don't know if it still is. There is another landing about two miles north of the Hwy E landing on Hwy 107, across from the Rock Falls Rod/Gun club. This time of year, there are alot of smallmouths, smaller walleye and northerns. Nice panfish if you can find them, normally not much for numbers though.

My buddy and I canoe'd this section (grandfather and grandmother) last summer. Was pretty shallow for most part. He loves it for smallmouth fishing.. I prefer deeper water for a larger boat. If you like fishing out of a canoe, it can be great...IT is a relatively undeveloped. I'd ask around more, to find any difference from the grandfather vs. grandmother. good luck.\ \ Mike from waupaca

Hello All,

Looking for information on this body of water. I am looking at buying some land and wonder what the fishing is like. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Merry Christmas to all
