FISHING REPORT
4/21/14 3:26 PM CST
I stopped by the river and did a little casting in and around the river. Didnt see or catch any fish. Lots of pockets of open water on Saturday in the red river area. It will be a while yet before we get any boats wet in this area. Need some big south winds to blow all the ice out. Took a ride up to Chaudiors dock as well, lots of huge ice flows all around the dock. Not what their plan is once the ice leaves, but there was a huge heap of sand and debris at the base of the landing. Would be hard to get any boats in even after the ice is out of there. Not sure what their plan is to clear that.

There's still ice in the entire bay, but the ice breakers are going through. With that and the warm temps things are getting unsafe. They just had to rescue 5 guys south of Sturgeon Bay this afternoon because they were stranded and couldn't get back to shore.

The shoreline is open near the River. I was thinking about heading out too, but I'm not sure. They were driving trucks out 10 days ago. Still ice as far as you can see all the way to ephraim at least.

Ice Depth: 24" Conditions: Partly Sunny Air Temp: 26° - 30° F
While there is over two feet of ice out there and trucks driving all over, the landing is getting pretty rough. The good news is all of the snow is gone (bring spikes for your boots). I caught a meals worth of whites in a few hours and called it a day

Landing by river and shore had water .... No ice ....in an area of 75 to 100 feet. People skirted the area to get to thicker ice. One guy got stuck in shallow water according to some guys fishing by me. I did not see it.

Team Phillips, what are they catching on sand pit rd. Perch or white bass? We've been trying so hard to find white bass this year. We have found a real good perch spot on bago. Pm if you wish.

Bago or the Bay? I switched in January and started making the drive up. I'm glad I did and will continue to. However I heard they are doing good off Sand Pit rd. On Butte Des Morts. Good luck either way. I went up Friday and Saturday. Friday was sloppy ice but Saturday it was frozen up like a skating rink. I would think Monday it should still be solid.
