Pump for the lake is back on. With all the rain we had this summer it will drop the lake about a foot until it reaches the "normal" high water mark.

Fished from shore, for pan fish, started with a bass and catfish, then tied into all species. Got some crappie, a perch, a white bass, and numerous gills. 10 Just made cut for freezer. Does anyone know what type of fish this is, the orange fins threw me off ? Kinda looks like a chub.

Was out all day today and only managed one bass that weighed two pounds. The water was 56 degrees with only a couple inches of visibility. Had hoped to find some feeding up for winter, but couldn't buy a bite. It truly is a shame what this lake has become.

Went out today and managed to boat four largies and have one break off on a hookset. Nothing big, largest one was 15.5". Bad fishing conditions with high blue bird skies and the water was warmer than what I had hoped for (70°-73°). I caught my PB (6lb 6oz) last year on Sept 15th, but it was much cooler at this time last year.

This lake has gone down hill ever since the carp and yellow bass moved in about 10 years ago. Both species population really took off at about the same time. Weed growth has never been the same since and those little strippers can really have an appetite, I don't mind catching a good sized one but they all seem to be about 4'' and there's times I can't keep them off the hook.
This may sound contrivertial, but I wouldn't mind it if the poisoned this lake. When I say poison I mean they put this stuff in the water that only effects animals with gills and they basically suffocate them to death, not effecting frogs, turtles, humans, ect. Thats what they're doing over the ridge on Mud Lake a.k.a. Marx Pond,
Wow cant believe how bad bass fishing sounds on Crystal. I can remember 3 guys in boat and boating over 150 bass in 6 hrs. Lots of those were shorts but we had 40 that were over 14 inches. What happend out there? I remember lots of nice shoreline wood and good weeds.
