Fish Sandwich, I was trying to deter people from that end. it was UNSAFE for big vehicle travel. When I say EAST, I was about 100yards out in front of the brown house. There was at least one area over there that had less than 8". I was out last night and did pretty good. Fished 630-11.

Here's the real report. You can drive on crystal. A couple weeks ago someone posted that the east end is thin so people wouldn't drive there. I checked the day after that post and it was 12+ inches and the crappies and perch were there. Head out from the launch, to the center of the lake and head a bit east towards the stumps. You should be in 13' straight out from the launch and heading east go until 10.5'. The perch will keep you busy in between crappie schools. The crappies will go on a rampage for a half hour around dusk. They seem to be moving east to west in that time period. I would suspect they can be caught somewhere further west after dark. They all run small compared to other places but the crappies are worth cleaning as well as 1 out of every dozen perch. I would have nothing to do with Shoepp's resort, they are nothing but rude to fisherman and treat everyone as though they are outsiders and trespassers. Bring your own food and bait, use the public launch, and avoid that place.

Aim_Low, I'm curious about your decimals. It seems you have a knack for catching partial fish. I'm not sure I trust that fishery's health.

They've been driving trucks all over the lake for over a week now. I have caught northern here before , but none since the hot summer of I believe of 2012. Hot dry heat killed a lot of them. I personally never saw a dead northern on shore, but I know people who did. I'm sure there are a few still in here. Cool

Is the ice thick enough to drive out from the launch on the south side?

There's pike in Crystal? Must be far and few, I have yet to see one or hear of someone catching one.

Are there any spots on Crystal that usually have less ice? I was wondering about the ice conditions by the sunken timber. TIA!

Ice Depth: 12"
As of saturday there was 12" of ice, straight out from the boat landing. I took my Kia out. I didn't venture to the the East end, but trucks were pretty much everywhere I could see. Flags were slow.
