All that open water froze over again 2 nights ago. Use caution.

Just wondering how the lake took this little warm spell. Looks like it's gonna be cold again after today.

75%of the lake is wide open. Only ice is on the far east end where I was on almost 3". Marked a few, but didn't go out too far. Cool

Conditions: Partly Sunny Air Temp: 16° - 20° F
Drove over to the boat landing around 1 pm. West of it was open water, east of it was froze over. Hopefully the wind did not open all of it up.

I've fished this lake 10 years, I agree the fishing is not what it used to be. We were on the lake the 1st week of June the numbers were decent but the size of the crappies were much smaller than they were, most fish were 8-9 inches. Before Lake Delton emptied which seems to be the same time when Crystal really started to rise we were catching 11-13 inchers. Same goes for the gills all on the small side compared to what it used to be. I know a lake can be affected by the fishing pressure which can result in smaller fish but this lake was relieved of alot of that pressure because of the public launch being unusable for a long time. What is really disappointing is quite a few fish had sores on them, are these fish dangerous to eat I didn't keep any of them but some guys in our group did keep them. I guess we will know when they eat them, they'll probably develop sores all over them!
