Got out Sunday morning. Stood up by dude who was bringing ice and bait so after backtracking I launched out of Jefferson Park around 9. Tried multiple spots and only wound up with one nice perch, a couple yellow bass, only a few sheep, and a dandy 16" smallie on an ultralight.

Hit the east side for a bit before the winds picked up .I got 14 and my buddy ended up with 20,all dead-sticking in 13-14 fow . they bit on a selection of different baits aand were tight to the bottom. When the schools move in they hit on all 3 rods within seconds apart.Fast and fun action that only lasted a few minutes till another school came around !

Bago fisherman I have a question. In all my years of checking this thread I don’t think I’ve seen more than a couple mentions of pike on this body of water. My son in laws and I like casting for them in the spring and fall. All CPR so my question is, is there a decent number of pike here to bother with the 75 min drive? There looks to be decent habitat for them. Only fished a few times on open water and a few more in the winter but never targeted pike. Thanks for any input. Nanook out

Late report from Saturday. Took the hour 15 min drive to bago in search of perch. Launched on the west side by black wolf and hit a couple reefs. Fished 9’ to 15’ depths. Dead stick, drop shot and slip bobbers. Crawlers, red worms and minnows. 6 perch (best was 12.75”) crappie and of course some freshwater drum. Drop shot with red worms produced a bit better than the rest I think. Lots of boats but I think most people target walleye. Nice day to be on the water. Nanook out.

Thanks Eyesman,
I tried them and he saidhis supplier can't get them anymore. I guess butter worms will have to do.

For once taking a half day off work paid off! Launched at the Neenah Rec launch headed toward a group out from the river. Moved a number of times in the general area from 12' to 9' and wound up with one here, another there, until the last spot gave me 2 before I left around 5:45. So, 6 total perch, smallest probably 9 1/2, and a bunch of sheeps. Enough to keep a guy entertained for a few hours. Of note, I bled them out on ice and it made a huge difference in how the fillets look, and the minimal mess while cleaning them was also appreciated.
Noticed a group had congregated on Outer Bar when I was headed in. Wonder if they did any better.

Fished from about 9 am until 2 pm.  Tried 3 different spots in 12 feet, 16 feet and 10 feet on the west shore near Oshkosh. Tons of sheephead out in 16 feet, 12 feet didn't have much at all and 10 feet produced a couple small walleyes, 3 keeper bluegills and several smaller ones and 6 keeper perch, about that many thrown back as well.  It was a bit slow out there but I brought home enough for a meal and that's all I care about.

A good day on Winnebago. Dead stick and slip bobber with crawler pieces or worms took these. The three walleye came on slip bobber with just a worm. Fished three spots 11’, 12’ and 14’ all on hard bottom with scattered rock rubble. Caught another 10-12 small walleyes 8”-13”. Plenty of sheepshead and a few smallies.
