Lake Geneva

The panfish can be caught and kept throughout the year and we can catch photo and release bass till the opening day the walleyes are closed till 1sr Saturday in may. We have been chasing both the green and brown bass and it is getting better daily what a cool deal as the lake is empty of pleasure boaters and with the warmer weather the bass have been in 5th to 15ft a very slow drag with plastic or a very slow rolling a baby swim bait have been producing. Did a crappie guide and when things are right it is on but the right thing ( clouds, wind, temperature) is not every day and does not always last long. Remember slow feel weight set and reel.

We started at 5:30am and found the smallmouth on the break line and the largemouth between docks c-rig n plastic was a blast the old guys in back the young bucks up front and the boys were greedy but dad had the big smallmouth and gladly watched me net largemouth. The bite slowed with the sun great guys always a blast.

Ended with a 3lb smallmouth and a 31” pike. Beautiful day, fishing was tough for us.

Linn is in. Fontana boat launch and parking free till 4/14.

The Fontana launch is probably the least used on the entire lake....you wont have any problems.  The launch itself is actually very nice, but parking kinda sucks.

Can anyone share how early the public launch/parking in Fontana has been filling up these days or if it fills up at all??  Planning a visit this weekend, have been to the area many times, will be launching my boat here for the first time.  Thanks!

Had a very tough go but once again great cliants make it work stay positive kept moving and changed bait and depths. As the wind grew it made it harder to find fishable water but we did and after a McFlurry we went from zero to a smallmouth then a crappie then more crappies then done as the bobbers stopped going down. Great guys 

Linn was not in yet as of Monday afternoon. Water temperature was 39-43. Williams bay is in .

Nice meeting you at the launch today Mr. Heim,  not too often we see 2 trailers in the lot on a weekend!   We had the opposite results as you, all crappies no gamefish.  This lake always keeps you guessing!  Kept enough fir a nice Meal.   Thanks for your reports!

Some days you expect one thing but you get something else today we expected crappies but caught largemouth, smallmouths, and a couple pike the last bite was a 14 inch crappie then the wind and rain begin and we headed home. The bobber and fathead in 9ft  we moved moved moved and it was gamefish at each stop what a fun day with awesome guys. 

Quite a few boats out today....anyone have any luck ?
