Realized I posted a report from yesterday on the wrong page, so hear it is. Chasing bass around in the river yesterday and caught mainly largies with a couple smallies mixed in. Did run into a few toothy critters though, one being a beast of a pike at 42 inches. Girth was incredible on this one. Released to hopefully be caught again.

I have fished with Mark many times out on Petenwell over the past 10 years. Mark just retired last fall and purchased some land on the west side of Castle Rock. Today we launched the boat at 6 am and fished till 11 am. Water temp was 66.6 and by the time we left the lake the water temp was 68.9 wind was light for the first couple hours, Around 8 am wind really picked up out of the south east.
Fishing today was very good, 1/8th oz weedless jig tipped with half crawler, worked up and down the main channel in 8 to 12 f.o.w.
Anyone looking to book a trip, I have August 30,31st September 4th,5th,6th,7th,8th and 10th still open.

Great day fishing the back waters above the railroad bridge. Bon caught a 19" small mouth and a 27" musky within 15 minutes of each other. On the way back we picked up a Overton life vest. Send me a personal message with the color and the size and I'd be happy to get it to you.

Janet from Waukesha booked a trip for her husband Curt as a birthday gift for this morning. They have been fishing "The Rock" for many years and wanted to learn some new presentations and locations. They mostly cast, or troll cranks and have never soaked dead rods or vertical jigged before. I showed them how to locate and mark submerged wood along the channel edges, and what it looks like on the screen. We worked two spots with the jigs and dead rods and boated a bunch of "shorties", and 2 "keepers". We ended the day jigging ice jigs and soaking dead rods for blue gill. We boated 18, and kept 10 for a nice meal.
Keep a tight line!!!
