MOON PHASE (1%)
Waning Crescent

Jeff from the Central Wisconsin, booked a morning trip for 2 people with me today out on the "Rock"

Today we launched the boat at 6 am and fished till 11 am, water temp was in the mid 70's the entire trip! Jeff along with his partner in crime wanted to learn a few area to fish since they have rented a home on Castle Rock for the weekend.

We started the day jigging in heavy wood and a few bends in the main river channel, 1/8th oz weedless jigs tipped with half crawler. Mid morning we pulled out the trolling gear and headed out to the east side of the lake. Today there was a lot of weeds and green slim on east side, drove around to a few spots showing guys were they could fish the next few days if we got a north, north/west wind to blow the green slim to the south. After half hour run we headed back to a few areas were we caught fish jigging in the morning to finish out the trip.

Bite today was very good like the day before, 20 to 25 plus short eyes, 15 Smallies, 3 crappies, few Gills, couple white bass,1 cat and a bunch of Sheepsheads guys took home a few for dinner, rest went back to fight another day.

Good luck,be safe!

There's something weird about all of the Wisconsin River Flowages. And I mean all. You would think they would be loaded with trophy fish, but they're just not there or are too hard to catch.

Dan from central Ill, booked a early morning trip for 3 people with me today out on the "Rock"

We launched the boat at 6 am and fished till 11 am. Water temp was 73.2 when we launched the boat, by the time we left the lake the water temp was 75.6

Today Dan wanted to learn a few spots and to get his boys on some fish. We started the morning jigging the main river channel in heavy wood cover, 1/8th oz weedless jigs tipped with half crawler worked the best. Around 11 am we pulled out the trolling gear and pulled cranks and boards to finish out the trip.

Today was a mixed bag of fish,2 "keeper" Walleyes, 20 plus short eyes, 1 pike,12 Smallies, 1 largemouth, few big gills and  8 SheepsHeads.

Good luck, be safe!

Pat from Oak Creek, and Ryan and his son Caleb from Racine booked a morning trip on the Rock for today. The whole morning was overcast and a little foggy, and not much wind at all. We soaked dead rods and jigs tipped with large fat-heads along a channel edge in 17-20 fow, then moved to a 10 foot hump with wood and dabbled some lite action rods with 1/32 ounce ice jigs tipped with red-worms for blue gills. Finished with a bunch of "shorties", 5 crappies, 1 white bass, 11 blue gills, and 3 catfish.

Keep a tight line!!!

MOON PHASE
Full Moon

Mike from Joliet, IL and his father-in-law Neal from Milton, WI joined me for a trip on "The Rock" this morning. Strong W/NW winds greeted us at the ramp at 6 am. We headed to a channel edge south of the island where the waves weren't as challenging. We soaked dead rods and jigged with magnum fat-heads and crawlers around submerged wood in 16-18 feet of water. Mike boated his personal best walleye at 24 1/2". The bite was best earlier in the morning, and died as the sun started to peek out from behind the cloud cover. Besides Mike's 24 1/2, we also had 1 "keeper", a bunch of "shorties", some really nice white bass up to 12", cats, and the usual sheep's head. With the cool down over the past couple of days, the water temperature dropped back to the low 70's.

Keep a tight line!!!

I fished this passed weekend on saturday where i had a good hit and missed a muskie on the white posidion and had a follow just south of the bride by the petenwell dam. I was wondering if there are any good spots to try out? Thank you!

MOON PHASE (38%)
Waxing Crescent

Brian from Nebraska along with his some are spending the week in the Wisconsin Dells. Brian booked a trip with me wanting to target "Muskies" I was a little hesitant on fishing for muskies do to the water temps being in the upper 70's to lower 80's. Monday we had a cold front pass through cooling off the water.

Water temp was 71 at 7 am when we launched the boat, around 11 am water temp really started to climb up to around 75, when we we called it a day!

We ended the day with 3 muskies had another nice muskie on top water come off, 1 nice pike on top water and the rest of the muskies and pike came on double cow girls burned over weed tops.

Good luck, be safe!

Hello all!

I'm having a tough time getting some bites on lures and I'm hoping to get some good tips or pointers! I fish from pier (the house pier, sometimes restaurant piers like the dirty turtle!) and I cant seem to find a lure that attracts fish! I always get a few bites on night crawlers/minnows but nothing on lures!

If anyone could give me some tips or types of lures that seem to work decent for pier/shore fishing it would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!
