Just returned from 3 day trip, camped in tent on mud lake with GF. Extremely warm air temps despite decent cloud coverage. Fished primarily for panfish, ended up targeting bluegills as the many crappie we caught were all a bit on the small side(6-8 inches). Caught lots of crappie all over pokegama in about 6-8 ft of water 4-6 feet down with mini mites and Minnows and gulp tipped with Waxie. Also drifted baptist bay in 8-12 foot, which normally pays off for us this time of year. No crappie here this trip. Water is exceptionally clear right now as I could see my jig down 6ft. Found lots of gills shallow all over lake, took lots of sorting to clean a dozen both days but had a good time and went thru a whole tub waxies. Surface temps were 68- 72 on all lakes even Chetek and prairie but 5 feet down we’re 55-59, so I’m hoping bigger fish are soon to move in as I’m heading back up next week.

Fished yesterday evening on the far north end of Prairie. Had a good time with the kids. Caught a lot of smaller fish. Crappies appear to have moved out, I would think by this weekend the Bluegills will be moving out as well. The boat landing at Lakewood park might be the worst boat landing I've ever used. Avoid this at all cost with larger boats. There were 2 dead rotting fish right at the dock and the concrete slab has a huge drop off at the end of it. I may bring some junk concrete blocks I have behind the shed to alleviate this, are there laws against me putting them in?

Was out on prarie yesterday morning and fishing was pretty good, lots of small crappies with a few keepers and a few slab bluegill mixed in. Walleyes were slamming crappie jigs with most of them in the 12-14 inch range. We did get a18 and a 20 though. Everything was biting in 6-8 ft of water

Went out this morning from about 630 to 9. Gotta say theres nothing better than being able to see a few feet down in the chain early on like this. Hammering the bluegills pretty well. Know through social media that walleye have been coming out the lake pretty consistently.
