There is a FISHEREE this Saturday, Jan 23 on Lake Redstone from 8am to 3pm.  Register at the Police / County building at the end of the channel off Pierce Rd by the clubhouse.  This is sponsored by the Lake Redstone Fishing Club, who is raising monies to stock Walleyes in Lake Redstone.

Plenty of door prizes.

Anybody having any luck night fishing?  Used to be really good until the shad took over.  Havnt tried it for a few years now.

Redstone would produce fish, but is a hike to walk out on. I would try Seeley, Hemlock or White Mound if I were to walk out. All of those have abundant panfish as well as bass and pike if you want to set tip ups. Good luck!

Was looking to take my kids out to Lake Redstone or other lake in Sauk county and somewhere to at least catch some blue gills or crappies.  Don't even need to be big, just some action for m 5 and 8 year olds.  Any thoughts?  I fished in a ice fishing tournament many years ago on the lake, but had access to 4 wheeler where now would have to walk out.

MOON PHASE (24%)
Waning Crescent

CONDITIONS
Raining

ICE DEPTH
14 inches

AIR TEMP
26° - 30° F

Fished South off of section11 landing today, 14fow,  9am-12:30. Brought home 17 decent gills and 2 crappie, all on waxies. Put back a lot of small crappies and a couple small gills. Aside from the rain, it was a good couple hours.

And as far as a camera, we tried to use one yesterday in 14’ of water and it was pointless, couldn’t see anything.

Alum 16.5 - could be schools of shad.  I've seen a lot of marks on the finder that won't bite.  I assumed crappie, but maybe not.  Some fish on the bottom that may be walleye, or catfish, or carp.

I've also seen some other interesting objects - something that looked like a ladder or pier.  Something that looked like an old farm foundation with a round ring (silo?).  I few trees or fish cribs.  I have a new hummingbird mega imaging side finder that lets you see some really cool stuff underwater, but I thought it would be cool to verify with an underwater camera, but if the visibility is only a foot or so it won't help.

This is from a boat in summer, not through the ice.

There are some community access points, that strictly speaking you are supposed to be part of the community to use, but not sure anyone would really care if you walked across them to get access to the lake.  Other than that, I think it is all private property around the lake.

First time fishing Redstone this coming weekend. A friend has a home in the NW side of the lake. Are there any other access points to the lake for the public besides the boat launches? Looking for something more in the mid Lake area as we will be walking the lake. Thanks.

I haven't seen it but had heard that a few have drove up through the narrows last weekend.

Does anyone know if they have been driving through the narrows yet? Trying to get up and do some fishing this weekend. Thanks
