I keep looking at what they’ve done. I just don’t picture how it’ll work
thatsmistertoyou...I checked out the landing yesterday, all I will say is "interesting design"...gonna be pretty, well except for the guard rail, I was scratching my head trying to figure out how a person is going to launch myself...
don't believe the ice fishing has hurt the crappies (has been pretty poor ice, for fishing, the past couple years)...I do "think" the explosion of shad in this lake has hurt it. I found some pretty respectable gills the past couple times out...you are correct tho, crappies are really small for the most part...
I've been catching tons of small crappies this year. From probably 100 crappies caught, maybe 6 were big enough to keep. Caught a few nice smallmouths, and a few bluegils. I think the long ice fishing season cleaned out a lot of the crappies.

Trolled around some and casted the shorelines on Sat. Fishing wasn't fast and furious, but a consistent supply of super-small crappies no matter what I did or where I went. Unfortunatley, the biggest was maybe 7". I did manage a 23", 5 lb eye and a 20.5", 4 lb bass in 16 FOW.

Bass fishing was really good up until the cold front this week. Things have slowed, but you can still catch them.
I have lived here and fished Redstone my whole life (I'm in my 30's) and have seen exactly 3 northerns caught from the lake in that time. Two ice fishing and one on a spinnerbait. If you want pike, I'd suggest Dutch Hollow for numbers and the Wisconsin River for size. Good luck!
