Wont be long know guys. The lake has came up about a foot more. There are some large open spots off wilderness know. If we get all this rain tomorrow she should open up.Talked with alot of great guys in the bait shop today. Sounds like everyone was going to fish the river.

Wont be long know guys. The lake is starting to fill back up. It came up about a foot or two today. The lake is open from a half mile south of long view all the way to the nekoosa dam. There was a little ice by shore at long view and some big chunks out off yellow banks. You cant launch a boat at long view yet. The water need to come up some. You mite after next week. Wilderness park south to the petenwell dam has ice but its starting to open up after all the rain and wind from last night and today. With all the high water coming down from the north the river is very high. Infact its coming over the boards in nekoosa.This should fill the big pond back up. Bait shop is ready for open water season. We have a large selection of cranks,jigs,plastics,bait and we sell hunting and fishing licenses aswell.

Regarding walleye open season on CR and Pete: "Fishing Regs'" 2013-2014,

Page 23, Adams county, Wisconsin river including CR and Pete. small fish symbol after bold type. On the bottom of most pages, states "hook and line fishing is open all year for all fish species except musky, lake sturgeon, trout and paddlefish, etc."

The same for Juneau county page 34.

The lake has opened up alot these last few days with all the flow and wind. From yellow banks to the hideaway looks to be open. Off long view its open in spots aswell. You could even fish from shore at long view. Lake still need to come up. Its still about 4 plus feet low. BAIT SHOP is all ready for the open water season. We have a large selection of cranks,jigs,rigs,plastics. As for Bait we have crawlers,leeches, mud minnows, fatheads and crappie minnows. We also sell fishing and hunting licenses. I will let you guys know when the big pond opens up. Also if anyone is looking to hire a guide i am booking trips as we speek. Be safe and go catch some fish

I don't know what part of the book you read that in? Yeah you probably should re-read the regulations. Just wondering if the shoreline bite for panfish started yet? They should really be on fire bout now. I would think the bite on pre spawn crappies should be near. If znybody has info let me know!

I was reading in the 13-14 fishing regulation book from the dnr that walleye season is closed from april 1st to may 1st??

I have seen Castle Rock raise 3 to 3.5 feet in 1 weeks time in the spring when they fill it back up.

Its kinda like your bladder, depends how fast its coming in, how fast its going out, and how empty it is.

With all the posting about the water level, I started wondering how long does it take to get to full pool? We are going up there this weekend turkey hunting and I will see first hand the water level. But, I have always wondered just how long...

Petenwell is low. It will be for a while yet. The water is getting really high and really fast up river but that system is a HUGE basin to fill. It will take weeks before it is really back to normal.
