MOON PHASE (3%)
Waxing Crescent

Saturday morning was in 280-300 FOW and a little north. 1-1 with a 13LB lake trout 52 ft down (DR) on a mag pro king blue dolphin. Surface was 72 degrees. 50 degrees 45 ft down and 42 degrees 100 feet down.

Sunday morning was in 80-140 FOW north of Pigeon River. 2 keepers (1 coho and 1 rainbow) and several shakers. Didn't even know they were on the line most of the time. Orange and gold plated spoons were most active. Temp breaks at 30 feet down and 45 feet down. Conditions were ideal. Just no fish. Also, was checked by DNR. Pretty simple. Show your license and life jackets.

MOON PHASE
New Moon

Fished last night got 6, two nice rainbows and four small kings.  There's a good temp break 30 feet down and still some fleas around. We fished 110-140 then back to 80. To say it was nice on the lake last night would be an understatement!

SJA, there’s no way to predict whether the salmon fishing will be good next month.

The biggest factor is the water temperature which can change drastically even in just a few days.

You can find the water surface temp either through NOAA or through Michigan State University’s “Coast Watch” page. We need water temps in the mid 50’s.

Your best bet is probably just to check back on here for fishing reports or to call Anglers Avenue bait shop and ask if there’s been a decent bite.

Hope that helps.

Just a question,  I'm bringing my grandson next month to try for some salmon,  do you guys think it will be good fishing then. He's only 8 and is tired of bluegills

MOON PHASE (19%)
Waning Crescent

Went out with my family on the Happy Hooker this morning.  A tad on the rough side, wave wise.  We managed to boat 2 nice kings (biggest was 23#), a Steelhead, and a Laker.  All came on boards except one King on a dipsy that hit while they were letting it out.  Lost one fish halfway in and missed one other good hit.  Don't think we were out past 150'.

MOON PHASE (19%)
Waning Crescent

CONDITIONS
Cloudy

WATER TEMP
51° - 55° F

Lowbuckoutdoors,

I measured 51°F surface temp a few hundred yards past the break wall. Surface temp gradually increased to 60°F at about 2 miles straight east of the south pier.

I marked very few fish, but picked up one small king on 3 color lead core with a blue/chrome spoon.

Hopefully things will pick up here with the cooler water temps.

The reports I've seen have helped me find a few fish the last two outings now that I am back in a new to me boat at what appears to be a tough time to catch some fish.  So here is a report to return the favor.

Friday Night 6p-10p went out to 280-320 feet and picked up 7 with ~5 more giving us the slip.  Most everything caught on Downriggers, Dipseys, and 250+ coppers deeper working 50-100' down.  No pattern on baits.  The rainbows were big and the kings were small.

Monday Night (last night 7-930) out to 90-120 feet since we didn't have a lot of time and picked up 4 (3 kings and a fatty laker).  No giants but some healthy fish all on coppers and dipseys, nothing on riggers.  Didn't miss any.

I don't have a temp probe yet on the new to me rig, but was hoping the MKE atwater buoy temps would be representative enough for Sheboygan so we didn't run out deep.  Anyone that can report approximate temp breaks would be great to hear.  http://glbuoys.glos.us/45013

Pretty light crowd out there.  Good luck this week, hoping for some bigger ones on a Wednesday night outing.

Has anyone been noticing better fishing day time vs night? Seems like I've only been able to catch 2 fish every time I go out in the morning lately but haven't fished any at night time. Just curious if anyone is seeing better results. Gonna hit the water tomorrow will post report. PM me with info if you want and have been out lately. Much appreciated. best of luck everyone.
